Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I believe it was created for a trip across the arctic circle, note the canisters tucked in behind the forks, they have kerosene in them for campfires or molotov cocktails

What was it, 600hp in that car? I think the Zipps are appropriate. It just needs a knife stashed under the saddle.

What spacing does that bike have. Those wheels are beefy! I don't think that kickstand is necessary. lol

The bike is very mad max, but I still don't like it. Mostly, because whomever made it tried too hard.

Bikes: Trash... for serious.

well that does have three wheels, so I'm not sure it counts... but other than that, it wins in every way possible.

I think that anything from Burning Man should be automatically disqualified.

I wish they would stop destroying the Black Rock Desert. However, it is funny to see how dusty and dirty those people are when they come into Reno.

The bike was made for Ididabike(?) race in Alaska. I think it was like 600+ mile in sub-zero temps unsupported. I think you would have to try hard or die. Notice that the front wheel is actually a rear wheel so you have two sets of gearing to choose from. Sick! I think there was a story about the race on this site.

The fork legs were also valved and sealed for storing white fuel.

They trample everything in there way. The problem with having such a thing in the middle of the desert is that it takes a long time for the desert to recover, unlike other ecosystems.

Sadly, this is really true. A week at burning man is honestly decades of recovery for the desert while it may only be a couple years in a green ecosystem.

There are people, you just don't hear about it. Also, the environmental impact of Burningman is much smaller than that of big oil. Logging can actually be good for the environment, so... I am an environmentalist. I even work for a governmental environmental agency, but I try to be informed before I jump to conclusions.
