similar to the Dickies hoodie, Home Depot carries a line of clothing called "Big Smith". the hoodie is thermal lined too. looks a lot like Carhartt, so much so that it's probably made at the same place.

best hoodie i've ever owned. period.

I've had my Carharrt jacket for 5 years. Its showing some age, but during the winter it sees near daily wear. Hasn't torn, zipper still works. Cuffs have got welding slag all in them, and enough grease to do an oil change... but its the only piece of clothing I've got that I can say is bullet proof. More bullet proof than my boots. I work on cars... and nothing is harder on clothes than laying on a rough concrete pad.

Thumbs up.

Bad news is a navy blue jacket is hard to see... feel like a moron on a cloudy day if I'm wearing it on the bike. Got a Neon green/yellow that will blind you to go over it. (It sucks butt in the rain without the windbreaker too...)

You know what I can't ever find? I want a hoodie with a big hood. I mean, jedi big. I found some neo-vintage american eagle hoodies that were like that once and some girl borrowed it and then moved out of town. I should slap her. They're not *so* functional, but I really like them. I also have a big head anyway, so it's nice.

the thermal american apparel ones are great, and they're actually made to fit instead of just being big cloth torsobags like most hoodies.

I totally understand why they have the fitment they do, but i can't stand hoodies that are short and wide. This is what i'm hoping the trackstar hoodie will remedy for me, it appears to be slim and long.
What the hell is with BF members and this word? I see people on here all the time using "fitment" when they mean "fit." Sizing a bicycle? That's the fit. The shape of a sweatshirt relative to your body? That's also fit. It's the fit of the sweatshirt.

fitment defined by Google.

in the event that you're not shaped like a can of tomato paste, or a middle-aged college football fan, the regular american apparel hoodies (california fleece) have slimmer bodies and sleeves. i own a pullover and two [different types] of their zip-up track jackets and the fit differs slightly between styles but is good overall.

On the same note as the last poster, if you're looking for a hoodie that fits well, H&M has slimmer "European" sizes that are pretty snug.

Dumb question? Does the trackstar hoodie have a visor built in? It looks like it does in my monitor (same color) but the description doesn't include it.

Don't get a new hoodie. Save the money, use some hoodies you already have and just get a good windbreaker.

h&m hoodies are good for cheap and comfortable, but you better plan on layering if it's cold. they are nice and warm for just sitting around, but it's just a layer of 'sweatpants' cotton material. they also ride up in the back when you're leaned over on a bike.

i'm thinking of getting one of those trackstar hoodies, but i'm nervous about the whole ordering up a size. anyone normally wear a medium but wear a large hoodie from trackstar?

i'd like a carhartt hoodie but in my experience i'm too tall and lanky for a good fit. then again, my experience with carhartts is a full body heavy duty snow suit type deal. i should just get another one of those and roll up the cuff.

would any of you really be able to take anyone who had a bandanna sewn on to the hood of their sweatshirt seriously?

i know i wouldn't.

The King Kog hoodie has potential. Remove all the stupid graphic and the sewn in bandana and you have a pretty decent hoodie. I like the pockets in the back is why.

i hate the word "hoodie" (note how it gets the little red line under it, when you use it your not using a REAL WORD), its worse than any other word. it is in it's most terrible form when my parents say it.

So you let your browser decide what is and isn't a "real word" for you? Does Merriam-Webster have any sway with you?

Haven't you ever heard of words being coined? It happens all the time. I guess you can stick to your prescriptive grammar all you like, but I like descriptive.

Noah Webster taught an entire nation to spell in a weird way.

firefox runs my life. going to an off-site dictionary is just too many clicks for me. ha. any who.
im all for coining words, just not this one.

edit: to contrubite an opinion that's more relevant to the OP, the thermal lined line of carhartt stuff is awesome, warm as ****, durable. do i wish they were cheaper? yes, because im poor.

The Trackstar hoodies are a nice slim fit. I have a slim body, with XL arms. I ordered a L and it was too short in the arms. I've returned and waiting on an XL. It is NOT for cold weather, it is very lightweight, 50/50, good for cool evenings, but nothing more. It will serve as a good under layer when the weather gets cold.

I have too been on a quest for the "perfect cotton hoodie" with long arms and slim torso. I have modified a tonne of them in the past, but sometimes, you want something to fit from the start. I have had good luck with RACEFACE gear. https://www.raceface.com/apparel/stor...r/HoodlumTeam/
