Snow Ride This Morning!!!

icknayvon 12-05-07 10:04 AM

Glad to have beat the snow to work this morning. I seemed to have misplaced my fenders last night!

lordgold 12-05-07 10:10 AM

I kind of ate **** on Broad about 10 minutes ago on my way to Focused Inquiry... now my pants are all wet. :(
I couldn't get my foot in my other clip. Stupid Vans and their waffle soles.

Wow, you are the only one in this thread that sounds childish. Your points about underage drinking are true, but the way you went about posting is terrible. I have yet to go to a bar where sodas were free so please inform me of these places. Also you made it sound as though people who are under the age of 21 are solely supported by there parents, not the case, I work and pay my way just like you and hundreds of other students. If I were at a bar to see a movie I would not try to drink illegally, but some kids may, and that is why I understand what Empire is doing. So in closing you sounded like a total asshat (no offense).

I said sodas are free or CHEAP. And almost always free to refill - either way, it makes no money for a bar that is hosting an event with the intention of bringing in drinkers. Also, I've either cooked your food or been your security guard in the dorms -- I know a lot of the sub-21 year olds in Richmond (even if they don't know me) and MOST, not all, are supported by their parents, whether they admit it or are too punk as **** to. I admit that was a generalization, but after babysitting freshmen for so long, it's a generalization I stand by. If you think that makes me childish, fine. There is a drastic difference between the 18/19 year olds (even the cool ones) and 20-somethings; I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true. You don't realize it until you and your friends are older and are getting annoyed by a bunch of kids that are ya'll 3 or 4 or 5 years ago -- it's kind of a bummer

edit: perhaps I should stray from using a less/more dichotomy of annoying-ness, and instead talk about it in the context of difference -- you're a different kind of obnoxious and annoying at 23 than 19.

So I'm walking out of Kroger last night, when the cop doing security comes up to me and tells me to take my bandana off. I had it around my neck as I'm sure most people do for the same practical and fashionable tactics. Anyways the cop goes on to lecture me about it being a felony and that despite his "security" detail at the Krog dog, he is a robbery detective. Back at the office he has a stack of paper this big (hand gesture about 2 feet tall) and they were all wearing "those things". This morning to get back at the man I wore every bandana I had! I even borrowed a few!

c)went by bunnyhop for the first time. that shop is tight.

ps does anyone have a sawzall. i want to cut my risers but they look real thick for a hacksaw.

Pemdas 12-05-07 12:33 PM

i got a pipe cutter. much better results. prolly like $10 bucks at loews if you want your own.

thrashin 12-05-07 12:41 PM

in reguards to the 21+/bar thing....

the bar wants to make money, they want people that can drink. what they dont want is to be packed with a bunch of young people who arent going to spend any money. like someone said before, drinking sponsors these kinds of events.... if you want to be able to watch the video than buy one. Or if you would like to have an event like this somewhere than try and get one set up. if you arent 21 you shouldnt be at a bar anyway, go to a party

for the people that are 21+ and dont drink.... if you are at a bar, get the hell out of the way when someone is trying to get a drink

I got a pipecutter and before I made my first light revolution around my bars the cutter shattered. I would stick with a hacksaw.

sounds like you over tightened it.... you have to gradually increase pressure as you go around

Exactly. You said that in a much better (less snide) way than I did. Nothing wrong with all-ages events; the more the better, actually. They're just not practical for a lot of bars. DIY or don't.

I never said that lildave's points were wrong, in fact I made it a point to say they were right. What I didn't like was the snide way (and even he admitted it) that he said it in. But that is all in the past let's back on the topic of the Blizzard of 07 that occurred this morning.

PS;If you are going to buy 700c tubes from Recycles watch out I bought some today that were labeled 700x23 and it turns out tubes inside were 700x25.

I don't understand. Would recycles not correct this problem? Are you now stuck with 700x25 tubes?
Have you addressed this with recycles?

I was just making a statement, I wasnt directing at you or anyone else in particular.

as far as the tubes go it doesnt matter, tubes are made to work in various sizes. use the 700x25's and they will work fine. there is no problem for recycles to correct
