You mean to say I have them installed 180 degrees out of phase? That is backwards? Is that pretty much the same as up-side down? :)

Piss everyone off at the same time and make a tall bike out of that pair. That would be hardcore.

It's about due time I got my hands on a digital camera.

This is the first serious bike I've owned. It started life as a 2001 Fuji Track Bike. After eight months of regular riding and commuting, I've replaced everything aside from the frame, fork, and crank. I have a 170MM Ultegra Double waiting on a new Octalink BB. It's helped me drop forty pounds, sell my car, and generally feel a lot better about a lot of things. This pure sex friend was the inspiration for the color scheme.

And now, the Winter commuter!

Stolen from none other than Ronald McDonald himself.

Okay, I respond to peer pressure from bikeforums.net and turned the bars over. Everybody like that better? Plus I got ride of the Control Tech stem and put on a Cinelli 1/R to be more in keeping with the MASI heritage (even though it is a California MASI).

I know you may have a problem with the Topeak pump now, but the Silca died (tragic but true)

Just keep the braze-ons on, plz. Looks nice, but I wanna see some gears!

Gyeswho 12-10-07 07:35 PM

wheeew! that is a nice lookin Masi

humancongereel 12-10-07 07:37 PM

it's not so much peer pressure with the bars, but just a reminder that things are often the way they are for good reason.

sniks 12-10-07 07:39 PM

there is some mighty fine oldschool bike going on

I love it!

You want to see some gears? Okay, here are some gears! That's a 42 Super Record in the front and a 16tooth BMX freewheel in the back!

And yes, I will replace the Topeak pump as soon as I find a Silca (hopefully yellow) that will fit the top tube peg.

Old-School wise, it's a '77.

Yo check me out

I used my Steamroller for a cyclocross race yesterday (Montrose Harbor, Illinois State Champeenships), so it looked like this:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2187/...3ec042c2_o.jpg

But usually it looks like this:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2054/...7327b753_o.jpg
(after about an hour of cleaning and mild wrenching)

46x16 fixed like 99% of the time, and now that there's no more cross I'll be taking the rear brake and cable off. Gotta unwrap the bars..

It will have a silver aerohead/formula front wheel to match the rear, but for until then it's a 105 hub, CXP-22 on the front. It also has:

Salsa SUL stem
Salsa Short and Shallows bars
black aero Tektro brake levers
Sugino messenger cranks (I think), 110 BCD, matching Sugino BB
Cane Creek S-6
Thomson post
Time ATACs
Fizik tape and gel

It feels really tough, and I love the way it rides. I have a Surly Pacer fork that takes a front fender, so the bike shop and I are going to rig up some proper fenders with some clamps or something on the rear for the winter.
