ah, looks like a good page to drop this ******* on.
say hello to the mtbeater! slapped together for as little as possible cuz i know jack **** about mountain bikes except for that i want to ride them. http://www.et-ia.com/dropbox/mtbeater.jpg |
I'd suggest a rear brake. It'll make everything quite a bit easier.
|
That thing is begging for a pair of the old, ridiculously wide cantilever brakes.
|
yeah, rear brake is going to have to happen. i've just been riding it in the street thus far, so i just put the front on, but i think dirt will have to change that. especially since i have a freewheel on the other side of the hub.
|
That Raleigh is sweet. Lugs and Miami Vice paint = awesome.
|
yeah, i'd ride the **** out of that.

thats really nice killsurf.

I rode fixed offroad with only a front brake for a while. It was really fun but I definately went over the bars more than I wanted to.
Going down a steep hill while modulating the front brake and keeping the cadence perfect so that I'm applying a lttle back pressure but not letting it skid as well as maintaining my body position back on the bike. It worked most of the time... |

Pretty much stock Madison. Sun Swift II wheels, Sella Regal Saddle, Salsa brake lever.

Sun Swift Deep V's
|
Should have said Sun wheels sold to me as Velocity Deep-vs... but that's in another thread.

As for the Jopo, do I need to post my all original early seventies foldable Jopo Mobil here? My GF also has one of these O.G. Jopos, with nice gold paint. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/41/11...812bbc3351.jpg And yes, the new modernized model Jopo in the post above comes with those fenders and rack etc. It's with coaster brake, obviously. |
edit: i see 'em. looks way cooler in the first shot. |
