Very nice - the fading decals give it a nice vintage look. Stay with em till they disappear i say. Plus it makes it look like a beater to the untrained eye...
|
Damn nice!
I live two blocks away from Wrigley. I'm running over right now to see if it's still there!! PS - The beat decals look best. Those slick powder coated bikes have nothing on you! |
Raygunner - you're one block closer than I am. I'm surprised I've never seen you or your bikes around...
|
The girl lives in Andersonville. Was just passing through. I used to live on Wilton. It felt like the El ran through my studio.
|
Naz, I grew up in the neighborhood. I've seen you around a few times but it was along time ago, before I joined this site.
Monkey, I found the post on fixedgearfever. Sadly, the guy doesn't have anything in my size. How much did your bike run you? |
Raygunner, from what I remember it was a little over $600 US + shipping. About the price of a Pista. Where'd u go to school? I went to Lane Tech, spent way too many hooky days in/around Wrigley.
|
No crap? When did you graduate from Lane Tech?
I went to hs in Wilmette at Loyola. |
I'm old. Graduated in '93. You? We got our a$$es kicked at Loyola in state football playoffs. Sorry for hijacking this thread everyone else.
|
I'm '96, but I've been meeting alot of Lane folks recently, you're one more!
|
We're everywhere. Met a family in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. The mother & father moved out there after graduating from LT.

Here is my Santa Cruz Roadster with the track set up, carbon fiber seat post and fork, Sugino 75 crank, Air Wing bullhorn bars, geared at 49x18. I hope the picture makes it as an attachment.
One ring, one cog, one gear. |
And you got a pretty straight trackstand! I usually have to have my wheel turned more if I stay for more than a few seconds. |
nice clean ride. nice dog too.

ok, here's the newest ride:
custom frame off ebay (columbus 'multi shape' tubeset) built by a guy named joe levante (anyone have any info on this guy? i can't find anything). 32h phils laced to cxp33's vredstein volante se's converted campy strada cranks (back lip milled off) campy seatpost (25mm!) flipped and chopped 38cm cinelli bars it's my main ride, and it's an absolute blast; stiff and responsive, and beefy enough that i don't have to worry about anything breaking unless i get hit REALLY hard. |
yeah i know.. i had them before. these bars are 15 years old and size 44. i may sell this bike..or in pieces. I will get a pic of an complete bike to post here.
S/F, CEYA! |

well, i did/do have others ;)
the fake masi went to raygunner the lotus went to my girl (i'm building it right now) the botecchia went to some guy on craigslist the celo europa went to dubteka the performance got retired i still have the pinarello which i'm building up geared, and i also still have the geared masi. the centurion ironman is being stripped to build the pinarello and will be retired. i think that's all of them. |
There the all are. I guess I missed that you sold them. I thought you still owned all of those 8+ bikes!
|
it's hard enough to move around with only 5 in here, 8+ and i might get trapped and starve to death!
|
I know the feeling Dolface. I have decided to dump some stuff. I am going to keep 4, 1 will be retired, 1 race,1 street,1 sit and wait. One guy I promised to get him a list together so he got first dibs.
S/F, CEYA! P.S. I think the bike you posted looks better with drop bars. IMHO. |
