a desire for a large saddle to bar drop, entirely for the sake of fashion

Form over function?

It's possible to have low slung and a level saddle.

Tomity, Genki desu ka?

To answer your question most riders don't set their seat properly when using bull horn bars. The bars makes the rider move forward on the seat. They need to level the seat off and raise just slightly the seat post.

Wheee...

The new ride is here and sorted:

yonderboy 04-30-05 08:41 PM

Got some new parts in, so I decided it was time to throw some photos into this thread.

Here's my ride all dressed up for the track. No pink Phils, but I have yellow Michelins. They're pretty nice tires, since my Gatorskins got shredded by some nasty road hazards.

And since I had the camera out, I decided to photograph my other love. Over 10 years old, and still ripping up the singletrack.

Ok. I got everthing changed over from my 83 schwinn frame and had it put on my Surly track frame. The one I just got off craigslist. I also added a titanium selle seat and carbon fiber seatpost. This was suppose to be my beater bike.. Oops

I tried to upload the photos and the file is too large. Go here to check out the pics

ohh. i started to tape up the frame so it wont get scratched up from locking it up

tried to upload pics of the new ride and it said "file too large. limit for this filetype is 100.0 kb. your file is 1.33 mb." anybody know an easy way of explaining the remedy to somebody who is computer unliterate?

^oZ 05-01-05 02:28 AM

Try MS paint, it should say something like picture>resize.

Depending on what you have on your 'pooter, try opening the file in whatever image program you have (e.g. MSpaint). If you don't have one irfranview is a great freeware viewer with easy to use edit functions http://www.irfanview.com/

Try reducing the size of the image as well as the number of colours. You can, for example reduce the size to 640x480 and the colours to 256 without losing too much. Save it as a jpg or png file, which are generally smaller than bmp.

That should reduce the filesize substantially.

BlastRadius 05-01-05 09:40 AM

Second Irfanview. I find that even with 800x600 pics, saving as JPG/JPEG with a quality of 70 gives good results (under 100KB). It isn't necessary to reduce the number of colors with JPEG but go easy on the "sharpen" feature. I found that the more you "sharpen" an image, the larger the resulting JPG file will be.

that's the iro carbon fork option. i think it was like $99 extra.

8500 people in this town. believe it or not there's 1 other dude who rides a fixie regularly. 16 miles of road. lots of repetition... but lots of eye candy once the cruise ships start coming through in a few weeks.
