im a karate monkey fan.. they tap into my "bmx cruiser" fandom.. but look more fun to ride

Yeah, I'm in there all the time doing stuff. I live about an hour away and everytime I go in I almost crash cause I'm too busy looking at bikes. I think if I saw your trailer hook up I'd hop a curb or something. Yeah, so that's my story. No one rides fixies where I live, I think I'm the only one. It's sad.

Did they get this yellow?

Sorry, I just like that bike too much and look for excuses to post it.

If that bike was in a band, that band would be Suicidal Tendencies.

Yellow Ourys = pillbox Pirates hat.

So you're saying my bike was only good for one album?

mcatano 08-13-05 11:23 AM

I would be more concerned if it started hanging out with the drummer from Jane's Addiction and talking about a side project.

Here' a snap shot of my newly acquired Zic-Zac. That was a day ago, it has since been stripped of it's brakes, SS cog, layback seatpost, and road bar. Future modifications include top tube cable guide(s) removal and brake hole fillings.

I picked it up beneath the "track" radar on eBay. Custom Zic Zac frameset (from San Francisco) built from Zero Uno Cr-Mo, with straight leg forks (I dig straight leg forks), Campy drivetrain, Campy brakes, Thompson Elite seatpost ($80 MSRP), Phil Wood track hubs ($320 MSRP), and a host of other top shelf stuff to include Sidi cleats (nearly new) that fit me perfectly.

This 650C track bike accelerates (explodes) and corners (Stuka dives) like nothing else before. That radial laced front wheel and those tacky Michelin slicks don't hurt either.

All in all, for 330 clams, it's exceeded my expectations and that "Eddy retro-orange" is just MORE icing on the cake. Ebay, in the end, it's just a coin toss. I got lucky this time.

Yeah, I've posted this bike before, but not in this version. Basso Coral road frameset with a rear wheel built on a Whit Ind Eno hub. Now brakeless, currently running Ritchey anatomic road drops (which I love), a Performance stem, an FSA chainring, and one of those absurd Connex super heavy duty BMX chains.

I love this bike...

Edit: also, there are these newish shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidrmunson/sets/718953/

I saw some guy here in berkeley on a gorgeous vintage Masi... trackstanding at a light... with a trailer full of stuff. it was pretty rad.

That's r-dub.

One album, and then the same album re-recorded in a more expensive studio, you mean. Sweet ride j-b.

trevor, that is super cool...and you DID show the trailer attachd to your fixie.

I would venture to guess that a chainstay-attached trailer would improve the handling, especially on a fixed gear. But that trailer is cool! I like the "aero" wheels.

My fixie is turning into such a utilitarian beast that I've considered putting the trailer on her, and it doesnt help that the geared cargo bike is on the blocks until I put on a new fork and brakes. in fact, maybe I WILL do that...i'll post pix if so. Starting to think that I ought to fix my cargo bike, just to ensure that I'll ride it again someday!

the dog looks like she is really enjoying herself. Definitely more than our cats like it.

I would need a step ladder to get on that bike.

Plinkerton 08-14-05 04:00 PM

That's a great pic Judah. I'll have to save that. Thanks for posting that, and thanks for the great ride yesterday. Take care.
