Okay... My bike is totally different from what I have been linking to in my sig so I have decided its time for an update. Click the thumbnails for a larger view.

In the last picture my bike looks somewhat like God.
New parts include:
FSA cranks and bottom bracket, miche chain (49x17 gearing) eggbeater stainless steel pedals
icon stem and mavic bullhorns with sigma computer routed through the steer tube
no name carbon seatpost and san marco rolls saddle
I took off all the useless stuff such as brakes, top tube protector, bottle cages, computer wires flopping everywhere and most of the stickers (I moved the spicer stickers to look cooler).
If I had to describe it with one word now I would say 'kinky'

Link to how my bike used to look in my sig

That Spicer is incredible. It looked great before, but my god what an improvement. I love the Spicer logo placement. Very Clean. Good work.

He actually cuts down the steerer tube, pounds in a big ass plug then hammers on a threaded steerer tube. He then checks it for true, tig welds it, checks it for true again, then grinds down the welds. The result is a steerer tube that is so overbuilt that its probably stronger than a stock one!

Word. Bernie is the coolest. Why did you want to convert to threaded? You probably could have had a threadless Chris King for the same amount or less.

I just really like the way threaded head sets look, plus its easy to adjust the height and you can use all the cool track stems. He only charged me 40 bones to do it, and I already had all the parts, so it was pretty cheap to do.

Next, the bike is off to powercoat. Pardon the brake, I like to go fast down hills. I eventually want a new wheelset, but gotta wait for that a bit longer.

dayum shiznaz, that rear triangle is slammed!

Shiznaz 05-26-05 10:07 AM

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you mean what I think you do, its a combination of my seatstays being extra long and my dropouts being big old chunks of aluminum welded way back. It is pretty gnarly looking though

This is Baby Princess Little Bear. Baby Princess for short.

She is a vivalo keirin frame with deep vs, nitto bars (stem on way), Record cranks and BB, chorus headset. She is waiting for some new hubs as soon as financial aid checks are cut again. I had to recently ditch the gold izumi chain because i changed my cog and it wouldnt fit, waiting to buy a new one, again, once financial aid comes in.

Hope you likey...

Here's my Colnago that I ride on the new London Ontario Canada Forest City Velodrome.
http://www.forestcityvelodrome.ca/index.html

It's about a 70's vintage frame originally ridden in a few 6-day track races.
Here are its parts -
Stronglight 93 crankset.
48/16 gearing (81")
Shimano Ultegra pedals.
Campagnolo record hubs and BB.
Mavic Open4 CD rims.
DT DB spokes tied & soldered.
Conti Supersonic tires.
Cinelli bars & stem.
Unknown steel headset.
Selle Italia Ti saddle.
Uno seatpost, (silly decal removed and polished).

Looking for -
Old style Campag 27.0 seatpost
Campag headset.
Campag crank 165, 48t.
Stronglight 93 47x1/8 track ring

That's it!

First time poster, long time lurker.

First I have a base model IRO with B123's and one of the $10 Selle San Marco saddles off Nashbar. The Raleigh is my commuter that I bought off of Marty at Urban Cyclery here in Des Moines, IA. It has a Surly Rear Hub laced to a Mavic MA3 rim. The front wheel is a Suzue basic lace to what I believe to be an Alex Rim.

The forum here is great. Pretty much anything you could hope to find out is just a click away.

*raises hand*

Copper plating? Where do I sign up? I want a bike with that finish badly. Like I'll-give-up-aluminum-forever-to-ride-a-bike-with-that-finish badly.
