Finally borrowed a digital camera of someone so I could waste some time posting about my bikes. Its taking a bloody long time to get these two together after many aborted conversions, crashes and broken frames.

One is a 70s green Vitus steel track bike with mainly superbe components. This is my race bike right now, but even riding something this nice I'm still awful.

The other is piece of cheapo Taiwanese steel that works as my everyday ride. Probably the nicest things about it are the beat up Superbe pro pedals, the huge areo EAI Arrow rim on the back (so beefy I'll probably be able to hand this down to my grandchildren) and the cranks.

Vitus looks so nice. I think we could have done better in that Italian pursuit if we had some younger blood pulling at the start there, and you could have done better if I hadn't slowed you down that last lap :p

Ooh, you changed your front wheel! Your bikes always look nice man, post a pic of the eisentraut, even though it's not fixed.

Can't wait to get the EAI arrow rims...

dubteka 04-29-05 04:22 PM

hey don. heard great things about these rims. Might have to pick up a pair from you at some point. any pics??

Few months ago I posted some pics of my just painted frame. Now I've been riding the bike for a couple weeks and managed to take some pics of it. Oh it's dirty and all, maybe I post more after cleaning it.

Bianchi 52cm frame, IRO hubs, Mavic MA3 rims, Michelin Megamium 2 tires, Shimano 600 cranks & front brake, Look 4x4 pedals, Flite saddle, 3TTT stem & handlebar.

It's a nice lake there but no luck with fishing today...

dubteka 04-29-05 04:26 PM

theres just something nice about orange bikes!

See the post above my last one of Fixedpip's black bike. The rear wheel is built on a EAI Arrow rim. The picture doesn't do it justice.

dubteka 04-29-05 04:37 PM

snap. thats like a nicer chromed out deep v!... hmmm. judah just might not be the only one in the SOMA with those rims.

HexagonSun 04-29-05 07:44 PM

that's some pretty tight looking clearance for a road frame. is that the stock fork?

dubteka 04-29-05 08:52 PM

yah, my beater 'cause i built this:
http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...50#post1072550

and plus the paint is totally scratched and chipped, and the fork is badly rusted. (i did just get a new ciocc fork for it.) Soon, I'm going to strip the paint, cut off the brazeons, repaint, and apply new decals.

as to clearance... stock fork. I LOVE the geometry on this bike. its perfect. ... and i'm running 25c tires, so that makes it look tighter. but for a road frame, its the tightest i've seen.

emayex 04-29-05 08:55 PM

it is amazing...why dont you just give it to me

dubteka 04-29-05 09:03 PM

emayex 04-29-05 09:34 PM

er...ill see what i can do...is your frame really that small?

PriO 04-29-05 11:40 PM

hot hot hot

chimpo 04-29-05 11:48 PM

I know it sounds weird but that fork looks bent.

Were you ever in an accident with that bike? It just doesn't look right for some reason.

It is a nice looking bike though.

SweeEeet ride... well done!

emayex 04-30-05 08:18 AM

its not bent backwards....it simply isnt bent foward like you ares used to seeing...less rake

bostontrevor 04-30-05 10:07 AM

No, the right fork leg looks a little tweaked... A little bend back on the "thigh" before being raked forward.

It could just be the angle, though.

Tomity 04-30-05 01:46 PM

This is my question about bike pics.
Why is the former edge of the saddle of fixed bike lowered?
Please tell me everyone!!

bostontrevor 04-30-05 01:49 PM

Poor bicycle fit.
