The bike has 2 water bottle braze-ons and brake cable guides. Overall, a very solid price for the price. And the ride, IT'S AWESOME!
Looks like I'm going to have to add a new bike to my collection......... :) |

Here's my new baby:
Early 80s Simoncini. Columbus. Almost all Campy. Rust and scrapes led to a new paint job. LBS did all the hard work, I did the little things and the clean up. Running 40/16 until I get the strength up - not a lot of riding so far this year in the NE. |

Hello - Just ran into Bike Forums, nice place you guys got here!
I've been riding for 25 years on a variety of track bikes on the road - Gios, Colnago, Concorde, Cannondale, Cinelli, etc. While they all been nice bikes, I've never been totally satisfied. Each one of them was flawed in some way - a cm too big or small, top tube not right length, no bottle braze-ons, some not drilled for brakes, or whatever. And all the track bikes I've owned had too high bottom brackets - not a good choice for my type of riding. I usually go for 60-90 mile rides a few times a week at least and I'd like to have a stable "stage race" geometry with two sets of bottle braze-ons for my bottles. So, I went out and had Carl Strong make a custom frame for me and then I hung my choice of parts on it. Man - is it nice. Fits like a dream, and handles perfect. One of the best bikes I've ever owned, and I've owned dozens. This bike is perfect. Moral of the story? If you're serious about riding a fixed on the road for long distances go get a custon-built and set it up the way YOU want it. Stop screwing around with the garage sale/hub hackjobs and go for it! You won't regret it. I even sold my B. Jackson 853 Dura Ace road bike. This is the ONLY bike I ride now. Here's a picture - enjoy. http://home.earthlink.net/~kennytosh/strong.jpg |

It says PUCH but it's a Bianchi frameset. Neuvo Record crankset, the photo shows a 50x20, its a 47x18 currently, Brooks saddle. Mavic SUP rims with the front a typical three-cross and the rear a leading 2, trailing 2 two-cross, moustache bars and brakes front and rear.

I run the front brake on the right motorcycle style and the left side is a just a brake hood. They use them on tandem stoker bars. That way you can ride the hoods. Gives the bars some symmetry. By the way, I caught myself in a little lie. In an earlier thread I mentioned only the BB is Shimano. Well, the pedals are too! Oops........most of the components are Ritchey. Surly hubs. I run big Avocet tires, shrader valves and slime. They work good for the kind of riding I do around here. |

for £2 on ebay. plus £5 shipping :) |
this bike blows goats for quarters.
romic 531 custom built for some dude named trey gannon (49cm seat tube, 58cm top tube). parts switch from lotus...about to be switched back. plus dura ace headset and suntour bottom bracket. built it up just for y'all, just now. getting it going fast is not a problem, but for some reason, slowing it down is difficult...and skidding is really, REALLY easy. it'd be nice if the front end wasn't so damn long, or if i was taller. |
