why the single red spoke on the front and rear?
|
Why not? I like little details, and since it has red decals, and red wall tyres... Kind of an homage to Mavic's Tour Centenary Kysriums.
|
aah. i like it, i was just wondering if it was serving a larger purpose.
|
I like the downward sloping top tube, oh and the red spoke is cool. Looking good. Mine has a slight downard top tube, yet to take any decent photos though

NICE! Whatcha got going on in the back spokes?
|
Spoke cards from a few local alleycats.
-or- The wheel is laced 3-cross and radial on the non drive side, so it may look a bit weird. |
hell yeah that's hot
I love the way the pimp ass gold chain matches the gold details on the frame. Is the saddle colour coordinated too? |
..couple new pics of my panasonic..as I dont think the pics in my prior post are working any longer..

Hey Marked001........ How did you fix the hub on that Spinergy?? I've got a set of Spinergies I'd like to convert but it's got a Campy 8-sp body.

unfortunately, I had to go the loctite method with these... which, I'm sure...alot of people dont agree with..but I've done a few and ridden alot and havent had a problem yet <knock on wood>
my intention was to attempt to use the surly fixxer...but not paying attention to the description in the ebay auction, I didnt realize these had a threaded hub... |
Surely if it's threaded you could just use a normal track cog?
|
How does the chainline shake out? I smell loctite....

Here is my main bike (only thing that runs right now), used for getting around town, commuting to school/work, chasing rats in alleys. 1989 trek 330 (I figured this out from brochures on the fine website vintage-trek.com) that a friend found behind a dumpster in north carolina while on a road trip. Aparently it was intact as a 12-speed sport bike then which rode fine, but when he brought it home a really weird roommate of his decided he wanted to "tinker" with it, and ****ed up the drivetrain for no reason (looked like he stuck a screwdriver in the rd and bent it along with the hanger). My friend passed it on to me to play with and I painted it (brown rattle-can-I love brown bikes) and completely rebuilt it. Nothing too special, surly/mavic rear wheel, front wheel whatever the hell it came with (I want to change to non-qr axle to simplify locking up) new tektro dual-pivot brake, profile stoker bars, oh and a used selle italia flite saddle. This is basically the nicest bike I've ever owned, mainly because it is light, fast, and everything runs nice and smoothly. I've also learned a tremendous amount about bike repair/construction in the past 6-8 months I've been playing around with it. And I love riding fixed. It wears me out, but the simplicity and connection to the terrain are great qualities.
