This is my Pogliaghi from the mid 70s. I wouldn't mind knowing whether or not it was built by Sante himself, but I don't know how to get that information or what to look for.
Oddly, the pantographing on one of the seatstays just says "Pogliagh." The chainstays are pretty long but it's real tight up front. It rides great. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/187/3...c6faf1d45e.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/171/3...6804aca333.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/138/3...44c230d7d2.jpg miche cranks, cinelli bar/stem, rolls saddle, phil/aerohead rear, 105/generic front. |
I'll throw in another Pog... (and queerpunk, you can tell a lot about the bike by the serial -- what's the full serial from the seat lug?)
This one's an early 1960s Pogliaghi, Reynolds 531 tubing. http://boxwood.subtle.org/se/albums/..._001.sized.jpg http://boxwood.subtle.org/se/albums/...og09.sized.jpg http://boxwood.subtle.org/se/albums/...og10.sized.jpg http://boxwood.subtle.org/se/albums/...og13.sized.jpg http://boxwood.subtle.org/se/albums/...og16.sized.jpg |

This is my 1970 Azuka convert. It may not be the nicest, but everything was done by me, and on a low budget. I grinded off all the cable sockets, sanded and painted it. The gear ratio is 50-18 and I can still pull some nice wheelies on it :). It weighs 22.5 lbs, has a flip-flop Sunrim M13II, and Bulletproof crank arms. I kept the original front brake 'cus i'm a newbie at the fixie, but it will come off sometime. May not be professional, but it turns heads. Considering I bought the original bike for $7.50, and grinded off the imperfections, I think it turned out well...
There are two pictures here, after I bought the bike I rennovated it as a road bike, then converted it to fixie... 1st Rebuild http://photos-648.ak.facebook.com/ip...68648_9469.jpg 2nd Rebuild (fixed) http://photos-087.ak.facebook.com/ip...38087_5095.jpg |

the frame was a gift, picked up the bars from a friend for almost nothing eveything else came from here and there ( most the aformentioned friends supply of parts) the back wheel was laced together by a dude at two wheel drive in albuquerque. surly hub laced into that wheel i ride 48x18 i want to get it down to 16 but alas i'm not in good enough shape yet.

I thought of an old track bike when I was building this one. It came out better than I thought, I really like it. |
