I can assure you the Raleigh will never know the touch of a Deep-V! Like i said I just got it last week and have not put any time into it yet but the plan would be to go open pro in the rear with gatorskins in front and back, leave to 3 small decals, add the headbadge, eventually polish the cranks and stem and pray that no one ever tells me "nice pista" which has already happened about 5 times in 1 day!
plus the first link below is seriously classy and would fit the frame nicely in black lettering. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Raleigh-...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-Vintage-Rale...QQcmdZViewItem |

I don't think I ever posted a shot of this build completed.

Those are Canadian nickles acting as pedal caps, mais ce vélo est seperatist! I finally got to taking a photo because a) it's f'ucking snowing today, b) it's now on the trading block, mainly to fund my next ride but also because I'm doing some overseas moving (not conducive to shiny Italian bikes). |
I'm putting this together for a friend who is new to single speeds. if she doesnt like it, i can always use it as a rain bike. its an old univega frame and a cheap wheelset from a bikesdirect motobecane. i have both drop bars or cruiser bars. i still need brakes and a chain. i'm considering a coaster brake rear wheelset from nycbikes.com, but she'll have to come up with the money for that. The old-fashioned seatpost is on backwards (i just noticed), but i'll be putting a newer alloy one on anyway.

ROFL cruiser bars. You win!
|
^ its just a bike for fun. nobody's trying to be NJS here, so cruiser bars are fine.
|

Whoever made them probably didn't expect to see them be turned into fixies thirty years later.
