minor detail but I'm touching up the paint on the new bike, figure I'd add some lug highlights to it while I'm at it. no. looks right as is. really cool bike. i feel like it would start to get fussy with that |
Reloadbags.com has it. You have to order online or call the philly shop to get it. They have pink, blue and purple! :)

I take it the general consensus is no? wow, never knew so many people hated a few thin lines, I've always been fond of them, but I guess I'll leave it as it and wait till I get that imaginary wad of cash and build my imaginary custom bike.
|
I already have dibs on that bike. Don't build it before I do dammit.
|
i dont mind lug outlines, but only do it if you like it, not if others do or do not

It's a conversion! 1987 Bianchi Axis converted to a single speed. I've been commuting on this bike for a couple of years. It had 24 speeds, but I realized I only used one, so I ditched the extra components last week.
On the rack chainline Controls The old rear derailleur didn't allow for enough wrap around the rear cog, so the chain skipped like crazy. I removed the derailleiur and one link to get a nice non-skipping ride. Yay! |
I like that a lot! There's just something about it...
|
Here's my conversion in progress. I stripped the frame to bare metal before priming, and hitting it with a whole can of Rustoleum™ flat black. It actually looks and feels quite nice, but time will tell how well it holds up.
I put new bearings in the headset tonight, and bolted on all the parts I had around. The rest will come in 2 big boxes from Harris and Nashbar hopefully tomorrow. I got the 27" fixed wheel from Harris because it should be a nice match for the original front wheel. That's a Fiamme 27" with an unknown high flange hub. I don't know who made that hub, but it spins smooth. I shot the detail of the seat collar, because I've always liked that little detail on this frame. It's part of what moved me to rescue it from the scrap pile. Excuse the greasy finger prints. http://users.adelphia.net/~mattface/...-Images/15.jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~mattface/...-Images/19.jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~mattface/...-Images/16.jpg I'll post more pics when it's done hopefully tomorrow night |
