You should budget yourself $8 for some tape.

I don't think you realize just how much gold tape costs.

I built most of this with cheap parts from ebay. The saddle and post were hand me downs from my father. Its not much but its a blast to ride.

Some small updates on the old single speed:

New bars/grips and finally upgraded to a larger front ring after spinning out on everything but uphill stretches. :D Currently 41x16.

And the new $20 project. Just finished re-painting her. Tried to accent the lugs with gold paint, and it turned out so-so. I'm pretty happy with it.

It's an early 90's Trek MTB frame and the wheels are what came on it.

So? I've been riding it this way for over a year and have had no problems whatsoever.

It's a trek? Looks light a blast around town with perfect gearing 41-16.

And Ted Shred's been riding on a freewheel and no brakes for years, but that doesn't mean it's not stupid.

better to have it on the rear than not at all.

It's like when u nail ur lady, some times the only option is the rear, because the front way is out of commission that week, might just be better in the rear than none at all.

My bad. I thought you could mount brakes on the front too.

sorsha6 03-27-08 08:28 PM

Haven't people already fought about the rear brake thing on this very bike? I believe so. He doesn't want a front brake, the end. And really, is that "the funniest thing" you've seen to date? Don't be dramatic.

wearyourtruth 03-27-08 08:34 PM

man i need some of those fat slicks...
