If by "downsyndromey" you mean beautiful, functional and useful... sure.

If you mean that as a slur, then no.

My new Raleigh One-Way, just picked her up yesterday, so everything is stock. The way the fenders don't look right bothers me, so I'm trying to figure out how to make them look right. I'm also planning on replacing the pedals soon, I'm looking for some steel pedals and clips, and I've got pretty wide feet... any suggestions?

I love that bike and I don't think I'd change a thing, though I guess fenders would be of questionable value in Houston.

Those fenders on the One Way just need some proper adjustment... it's a gorgeous looking bike.

I'll be riding to/from class up in College Station, so I'm going to keep the fenders. I just don't like how the back one doesn't sit aligned with the wheel, it seems too far forward... but it's bolted to the frame, so I don't see how I could change it much...

Raise up the back of the rear fender to make the spacing around the tire evenly spaced all the way around.

on some fenders the collar that attaches the fender to the frame slides along the fender, you might look and see if that is the case here.

3Rensho (Update)

Posted this a few years ago, after my father found it NOS sitting in his LBS basement. Have just overhauled it for riding this spring.

- go to hardware store
- procure .5" nylon spacer + longer bolt
- insert spacer between fender and chainstay bridge, secure with longer bolt.
- enjoy your new fender line

For the vintage (1984), condition (NOS), and size (57.5), yes; it was a steal. Can't say it was cheap though.

Superbe.

(looked at the flickr site)

Speaking of which, I did find the Specialized dust covers pretty amusing.

Indeed; rims are Araya ADX Aero-1 tubulars. Glad the dust covers are amusing; I've got to protect my extractor threads somehow and Suntour dust-covers are basically impossible to come by. The Specialized ones are nicer than Sugino 75's, on par with old Campy NR. Suntour was in fact a supplier of Specialized back in the day, and 3Rensho built for Specialized (the famous 3Rensho Allez's), so the dust covers aren't so far out of left field.

Where did you get a NOS Superbe group at? I've been looking for one for quite awhile. I've got okay condition cranks, what was a NOS ring, and good condition hubs currently.
