First pic is what my bike looked like originally, not my bike though, just a pic i found on yahoo. The second pic is my finally finished ride.

I started out with a Specialized Sirrus road frame i found on top of a trash heap.At first i built it up with parts i had laying around the garage.then i decided to remove all braze ons and der. hanger, then i had to paint it,so i decided on Kawasaki green with pearl clearcoat.I upgraded slowly to a carbon fork i got from Chucksbikes.com for 35 bucks,Formula flip/flop with Mavic CXP wheelset from Bicyclewheels.com,and a bunch of other parts scrounged on Ebay. I really like this one a lot,so much so that i havent ridden my 29er since this was rideable.

sorry for the crappy pic,i lost my camera and had to use a buddys(wich sucks)

Here is my specialized. Still need to get some 1.5" slicks on there because my girlfriend rides it more than I do (around town). It's a little ghetto but it's built to pwn, and pwn it does.

How do you like your chain tensioner? I have the same one on my 29er but it makes a lot of noise and i dont know if thats normal.

To be honest it's kindof a POS, but it gets the job done.

Still, I'd rather have the tensioner than have to f*ck around with trying to get the right chain tension on a frame with vertical dropouts. I know there are formulas to determine how, but I tried that on this and the chain was just loose enough that it would come off when I was really beating on the bike.

Schwinn Madison, for Less than $350 brand new at a local LBS. This is my commuter and coffee bike.

Cheers.

And here is a bike I take to the Velodrome to embarrass myself, a Raleigh Rush Hour. Even though it spends a lot of its time at the track, I put a front brake on to train on the local streets, so that I can get more training specificity by being in the drop.

The Mighty Pompino with road tires. This bike spends half it's life with cx knobbies on the trails. Hence the wide bar and Jekyll and Hyde flip flop: 13 tooth fixed / 18 tooth free.

Thank you! It is a very comfortable bike, both on the track and on the street. And everywhere it goes it receives compliments.

maddyfish 06-17-08 02:30 PM

Love my Scattante and that one looks fun as well.

cc700 06-17-08 04:22 PM

thanks... yeah there were cops talking to some guy in the apartment down the way, and as they left i guess they decided they didn't like the look of me and asked "what are you doing?" so i said "taking pictures of my bike" and he said "what for?" and i said "for pictures" and realized i didn't really have a good answer other than i like to take pictures and i like my bike.

aMull 06-17-08 04:24 PM

After a month of indecision as to whether i should buy a fixed gear bike or not, i decided i should. Got the 08 Fuji Track, and i really like it. Never had a fixed before but i am very happy with the bike. It's compltely stock except a 19t cog instead of 15t, and a front brake.

Both of your bikes are really nice. Simply and classy. I love them.
