Found this elsewhere on the interwebs.

That's Hoy right?

mangpress 12-15-08 04:54 PM

correct.

andre nickatina 12-15-08 05:38 PM

Seeing pictures like that makes me feel like Hoy is a way more down-to-earth guy versus a lot of uptight roadie pros with egos stacked high in the sky.

mangpress 12-15-08 05:56 PM

my cousin, whom i have a lot of respect for being both a cyclist and a scotsman, met hoy after he had been out to dinner one night with his family, said hi and congratulated him on their (team GB)'s world cup performance, chris asked if he was a cyclist and then proceeded to have a chat with my cousin for the next 5 or so minutes, as if they had known each other. he is such a mature dude (yeah he's 32 he really shouldn't be otherwise) but just to be such a high class sportsman and have genuine time for the people that look up to you is what gives me faith that not everyone is as worthless as i give them credit for.

BFSSFG abridged version: Chris Hoy is NJS approved.

mangpress 12-15-08 05:56 PM

on another note, do you reckon he gets his jeans custom made to fit his thighs?

chadbrochill17 12-15-08 06:06 PM

Is that an road course for cars?

rduenas 12-15-08 06:14 PM

Yeah he was supposed to "race" Lewis Hamilton. The Formula One world champion.

deathhare 12-15-08 06:14 PM

Whats the story with that bike? Is that his messing around bike? Seems to be fixed gear...or probably single speed. Two brakes.

edit: Oh i guess for the little race you just posted about.

Jeans that fit baggy to you and me are probably skin tight on him, haha.

First road bike, first conversion, first fixie. I love it. After i get paid tomorrow I'm getting a smaller chainwheel, a brake lever, and wrappin my bars. This is new to me so I would love some constructive criticism.

My other single speed (currently with a chain and brakeless):

The big German one. Can't remember the brand. Its a BMX chain. I don't like breaking a chain on a brakeless bike so I got the heaviest one I could find.

DARTHVADER 12-16-08 12:33 PM

lol.

Oh, just once. Once, was enough. I was working, blasting down a hill, lane splitting. Went to skip stop, chain broke and I had to Fred Flintstone in between cars to come to a stop. It was a half link chain. Never buying one of those again!
