1988 Look KG96
Early carbon frame swiped from Ebay. Bontrager track cranks, 3/16 chain, San Marco saddle and polished randonneur aluminum bars to compliment the lugs. A reliable lifeline to work and wetting the whistle. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3308/...5fb949acca.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3569/...51136c0028.jpg |
they need to make chrome polished bar tape.
i agree that the bars accent the lugs, but i fear your hands slipping in the rain. please wrap them? maybe just for the remainder of winter? but it looks good! |
ps. i think your bars would pop a bit more with some silver cranks
|
i question the necessity of 3/16 chain, but otherwise i like it. cinelli makes a clear jelly tape that you might look into, or clear champ grips.

Well here she is, almost complete need to put on conversion for the bottom bracket and a new seat will be next purchase.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9/DSC02852.jpg forgot this one, just the front brake http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9/DSC02853.jpg |
Back to the drops and brake. Used the room mates 10-22 wide angle. Thing is pretty sick

Bars, crank, chain... While the weight and thickness of the chain (a beefy 900g) may not flow well with the theory of a relatively light carbon frame and whatnot, I have become used to the sturdy, almost brutish presence and enjoy it from its use from on another bike. Properly cleaned and lubed it is almost silent. The chain was initially bought after having had one snap going up a rather steep climb, a rare fluke which was as ef'ing startling as it probably was entertaining to see for those watching. Saw 2 bikes this morning with the same chain. It will eventually be replaced by the KMC 710 when the sentimental attachment fades and some silver deep V's when the Gov't gives me back the big bite of cash she took out of my paltry paycheck. |

My new baby that I finished building finally. It's my first fixed gear and I love it. I built it on a tight budget but I'm quite happy with how it came out. I've been having a ton of fun riding it in Boston and back home.
