Plan B (see my sig) just got almost 500 bikes from Working Bikes to distribute/sell here in New Orleans. Met a few of the guys on tuesday when I helped unload them. I can't BELIEVE how many bikes fit into that truck. Amazing sight. Lots of Schwinns and Free Spirits, but lots of bikes nonetheless. They might be heavy, but old Schwinn Varsities had the pretiests paint colors EVER.

Come to think of it, I need a beater myself. May have to buy one myself. :) (Sorry for the off topic post.)

I think if you put a shorter stem on the bike you would be able to fly your saddle level.

nolageek 10-28-05 03:00 PM

very nice. I love orange bikes. mmmm

Smorgasgeorge 10-28-05 08:49 PM

68cm Fuji
Switched out the 53t chainring with a 42t. 15t fixed cog.
And the bear traps have been switched out for pedals with cages.
But the rest is pretty much the same.

I want to see a picture of that bike next to Turd's...

bostontrevor 10-28-05 10:43 PM

Whoa.

Seriously, congratulations on finding a bike in your size. That's got to be a lot of work and a good measure of patience besides.

My two friends. The IRO is new, obviously, and the other is a converted KHS. Yes my handlebar tape is masking tape...

jacobs 10-29-05 06:41 AM

That is QUITE the handlebar angle.

benny 10-29-05 08:39 AM

Yeah, I'm out riding the loop pretty often on my trusty steed. Which reminds me, I should probably go out there today.

This is my fixed gear. I've had it about a year and a half.

'99 Lemond Buenos Aires frame & fork - a Fathers' Day Gift from my thoughtful wife
Shimano DA cranks with TA chainring guard & 45 tooth ring
Phil Wood hubs laced to Mavic MA3 rims with 16 tooth Surly cog
Brooks Swift saddle
Nashbar Bullhorns
Gille Bertoud bag on the bars

The lampwork beads hanging from the saddle rails were made by my wife.

el twe 10-30-05 08:39 PM

How'd the chainline work out for you? Hard to get, or did you just get lucky?

EDIT: On the LeMond above

What's that tape? I have the same saddle, and I want to find tape to match. Thanks!

Cinelli cork. However, if you really want to match your saddle, you should check out Brooks Leather Handlebar Tape - http://harriscyclery.net/site/itemdetails.cfm?ID=1877

 $60 for handlebar tape? Ouch!!
