Laugh if you like. I'm not an idiot - I did it on purpose for a less of a 'granny' riding position smarty-pants. And since you asked - yes - I do enjoy it. Very nice riding position... :)

I have actually been for a pint there but it was on a Critical Mass friday when we kinda beseiged the place for a impromtu party so I think the vibe might have been a bit different. I've thought about it before but as a bit of a noob it all looks a bit intimidating. I'm sure it actually isn't but... Should I dress like a messenger? ;)

Hahahah oh dear, the post-CM crowd. Yeah I know this is the wrong thread for this discussion but don't be intimidated by the Duke crowd. They're all good people. They just get a little cranky cause CM always brings the old bill which tends to limit "usual proceedure."

As for dressing "like a messenger"... again I say. Oh dear. Just come on down and look for me and the posse on friday. I got a black bag with orange piping and an adorable new dark gray shants-made cycling cap. Stick by your ride and I'll find you.

Long story short.. Sold my GT, selling the Shimano sponsored frame that a bunch of these parts came from.

Mad props to the Sashae-Framebank. Big up to Bike Works for building up the Wheelset.

but dang.... your new bridgestone is pretty smoking.

onetwentyeight 05-03-06 09:10 AM

Nice. theres a guy in SF with pretty much an identical set up except for the seat (brooks), and it's a really nice looking ride.

Read the post again; the guy who posted the pics made the frames. Very cool frames, nice work. How does one go about learning to make frames? College course?

Is that a bio-pace chaingring? Can that work with a fixed gear drive-train?

Shiznaz 05-03-06 11:29 AM

sheldon says it can... whatever that means.

Cynikal 05-03-06 11:35 AM

Yeah, I've helped someone set up a fixed MTB with biopace. Sounds crazy but it works.

Working fine so far, had to use shorter bmx nut & bolt assembly(to secure the chainring to crank).

Well, it's lugged, it's Italian, it looks well-loved, it has a Regal, minimal fork rake, nice chrome, DA pedals, fluted cranks, etc, etc...

I'm against the black stem, but it's not like that can't be swapped out.
