edit: someday you and I are goin to drink wine and ride bikes all over London...oh yeah and have sex with French women in their late 40s. |
since that picture was taken i have lowered the seatpost and adjusted the saddle to be slightly more level with the top tube.
i am a tall rider (6'4") so the tight geometry gets to be a little tricky at times, but despite my stature i am fairly flexible and compact and able to really get down in the drops when i want to (often). i have never had a problem with slipping off of the saddle, and most of that weight goes to my legs and not my wrists. also, i've been lurking for awhile but i don't think i've ever introduced my self on these forums. i'm 10x, or chuk amuk from brooklyn, ny. for all intents and purposes of this community i love building, riding, talking, and learning more about bicycles. yes! back to lurking... |

I think I saw that Leader on the westside greenway yesterday, near chelsea piers.

My first fixed gear. Took advantage of Tony's reopening sale awhile back, and a few months of intense ebay scouring later, here we are. Its amazing, and I've since sold my geared bike (partly knowing that I'd never ride it much again, partly to justify this wheelset)! 48x17 has been ok so far, if a bit on the high side. Though Boston on a whole is pretty flat, I live on one of the few small but steep hills in my area, and my girlfriend is on mission hill, so I've been getting a good workout recently.
http://static.flickr.com/49/153285562_a8e5c56e58.jpg I couldn't have built this up without lurking around here for what seems like ages now, so thanks to everybody who indirectly answered my questions! |
Specs? Specs!

Here's my Schwinn single speed. One gear makes life simple. Fixed makes it ultimate simple.
