what's up with that seat-stay cluster?! the bolt goes inward towards the seattube isntead of across perpendicularly? can you pllleeease post detailed shots of this? thanks!

This is a total shot in the dark, but have you tried other aero seatposts?
It looks like you may have a Dura Ace AX post in there already, which I think only came in one length.

What about a Corima Ellipse?
It's only 7mm thick (which may be too thin), but I'm guessing that with some creative shimming it would hold:

Beautiful bike, BTW.

...or you could get some 170mm cranks and super low-profile pedals, like the Ritchey V4 Pro Micro.

(sorry... I switched into problem solving mode)

I couldnt find any! thank you for these. It has a Dura Ace AX post in there that has some grindage to it already to fit. i could do some measurements to see if that corima would fit or if it could be made to fit.

Drac Vamp - Sure I would love to show it, I will post some tomorrow evening, right now i gotta go watch the mavs and get some sleep for 7 am work. ugh.

PS. that Romic is for trade in the for trade thread!! Look!

OMGWTFBBQ 05-25-06 02:12 AM

awesome, right up my alley.......super clean, great job...

LóFarkas 05-25-06 02:25 AM

If you ride Jack Rabbit like that, I'm sorry for your wrists. Saddle angle is wrong, full stop. No need to say you like it like that, it's bad.

HR: that is officially hot. You have my approval:D

Travsi, maybe you've just got tunnel vision. Check all the blossoms on the ground.

HR, awesome Pista. It absolutely looks like "your bike" (ie. fully customized for your tastes/preferences) and world's apart from just another Pista. Others have said that it looks like a really clean build and I've got to chime in w/ a +1.

travsi 05-25-06 07:35 AM

...oh right. probablility only allowed
one petal for each wheel though.

popluhv 05-25-06 08:42 AM

Nice job hyperReview, i particularly like the silver nips on otherwise all black wheel, it adds a nice bit of contrast w/out being flashy.

But, you know we want to see the non-drive side ;) , again.

hyperRevue 05-25-06 09:35 AM

Travsi: Yeah, just a flower petal. And those tires are some super cheap Kenda tires that I'm currently trying to skid through so I can justify buying new ones.

It's kind of a long story.
As of a few days ago those wheels were on my Pake and I had ProMax/Deep Vs on the Pista. About a week ago I bought a Cannondale frame and threw some back-up wheels I had on it until I realized that the Cannondale deserved better. So the cheap backup wheels went to the Pake, the Pake's wheels went on to the Pista and the Pista's wheel went to the Cannondale.

And after that was all done, I didn't feel like switching out 3 sets of tires, too.

Eyefloater, LoFarkas and Popluhy: Thanks for the nice words. And I'll try and get a non-drive side pic later today.

As someone who likes a saddle like that, let me explain: When you weigh enough, you let your weight rest only on the back part of the tilted saddle, and it depresses enough to feel very much like sitting on a saddle that's less tilted, but without having the front part of the saddle all up in your personal business. Honestly, for my tall self (6'4", 190), that sort of a saddle angle doesn't stress the wrists at all. I'll concede that it looks ungainly, but hey, it's about the ride and the comfort and whatnot.

Sinfield 05-25-06 09:59 AM

Yeah, but don't you find yourself perpetually slding forward? Especially w/ the saddle looking all slick on top? I used to run my saddles like that because I didn't like the boys going numb, but after I did some careful adjustment I got to the point where the tip of the saddle doen't crush the man hammock and I don't slide forward/ have wrist pain all the time.

Well, I can't speak for the owner of the Jack Rabbit, but I sort of hook my a$s over the back, and because the saddle is kinda foamy, it depresses just enough. I don't really know what's going on there, but I don't slide forward.
