i just got my new angus from iro today... it's pointless to post pics of the frame until i have it built up (and i need to get the headset pressed in at a shop) but i'm especially enamored of the fork tony substituted and had powdercoated, so i wanted to share it:

Here's a pic of my late summer project, SS conversion, soon to be fixie, that has carried into the fall - my first wrenching experiencing. Late 80's Bianchi, currently setup SS. Nothing special as far as buildup - tore it down to the frame, stripped beat paint and painted with Duplicolor engine enamel and clear coat (I will NEVER do that again). Added and removed parts as necessary, re-dished rear wheel, and now it's my daily driver. Most recent addition are the fenders - SKS - had to chop the rear in two to fit it on either side of the brake bridge (mounted with zip ties and L bracket) as it was too tight to mount traditionally with the 700x28 tires.

thanks to the following BF members for answering my questions and giving helpful advice along the way:

-- you might not have thought it was a big deal, but your answers and advice were a big deal to me - this forum is awesome, and you're some of the reasons why --

I planned on taking a few more pics but my camera died right after taking this one

Stuff I added:
* Nashbar bullhorns and ugly tape
* Cane Creek TT brake levers
* Bulletproof 170 cranks with 46 tooth rocket ring
* Shimano BMX freewheel
* Bianchi/ITM stem
* Blackburn rear rack
* SKS commuter fenders
* Kenda 700x28 tires

I'll make it fixed over the winter once I get my hands on some equipment to build-up some wheels around my Nashbar fixed hubs.

It's alright, I didn't do it on purpose, I had to find the straps (which I've found and put back on). I forget why I took them off. OH WELL.

freeskihp 11-16-06 10:25 PM

and your balls might like you a little better if you lower the angle of the seat. but hey,whatever floats your boat

MajikMan 11-17-06 01:42 AM

The scratch didn't come from removing decals w/ a raz0r blade?

dude, you will scratch your bike. i was peeved at the first scratch i got, but you know what? it's a bike. you ride it, you lock it to stuff, you toss it in the backseat of a car to get across the state, you fall, you bounce off of cars, you drop it down the stairs. you'll scratch it. and it will look prettier used anyway.

Every time I see an all black bike I think to myself how much sweeter it would be all silver.

They didn't have silver fenders and the saddle was free.
I think I'm gonna strip the paint and paint it SILVER though.
Thanks for the idea Shiz, that sounds awesome!
