That's a pretty "pure" track bike, no? I think I am under the assumption that the owner is using it for road training? Most bikes that I've seen used for road training are setup as close to a road bike as possible- road geometry, etc. Certainly you can ride a track biek for road training, but a fixed bicycle setup as close to the road bike as possible would seem more productive for training.

That bike is HOT

DasProfezzional 01-07-07 07:33 PM

Gave Ye Olde Hard Rock its last clear coat today. She's looking quite slick. The frame and fork:

And the dropouts, recently liberated from the constraints of a derailleur hanger and these funky little lip things that made them vertical-ish.

This cycle has a bright, fixed, chubby-tired, mustachio-barred future. A righteous all-arounder indeed.

Look at that neg drop! Put a flat stem and hotness increase +200%.

SkyeC 01-07-07 07:46 PM

my back hurts just looking at that.

hot bike though, maybe the drop is an anti-theft measure? ;)

Thanks. For now, yes. I want to either put a lever on the bulge of the bars or get a tt lever. At that point I'll tape the bars. Riding around in the winter with two pairs of gloves on you don't notice missing bar tape as much, but by the time it gets warmer I should have this sorted out.

dasein, i really dont like the brooks on that bike (and i normally do like them), but otherwise it looks great.

pat dasein 01-07-07 11:19 PM

I realize the brooks may clash with the bike, but when it comes to saddles, one should choose ass over aesthetics.

And as far as the riding position, it may look steep, but so far I've found it to be the most comfortable and effective riding position. Maybe it's the camera angle that makes it look so drastic, or maybe I'm just flexible.

adampaiva 01-07-07 11:48 PM

pictures will come in a week or so. Im putting together my bike, and I got this pink frame. I'm starting to go a little overboard on the bay on pink parts. This thing is going to turn out fruity as hell.

deathintransit 01-07-07 11:49 PM

Have you ridden it for over an hour yet?

pat dasein 01-08-07 07:50 AM

br995 01-08-07 07:53 AM

pitboss 01-08-07 11:01 AM

Parted with the the Giro awhile back...but just got around to popping the pics up.

The flow comes from buying and selling bike parts.

Minor update to the Stealthbike - swapped the drop bars for bullhorns. I much prefer the brake position with the time trial, and the riding position is better for the city. They are super budget bars from Nashbar with a lot of flex, so they'll get replaced eventually - I just wanted to see how the fit worked.

edmondraptor 01-08-07 02:42 PM

Gave my bike a clean up since it was absolutely filthy from winter riding and I'd forgotten what it looked like under the mud and grit.

Aaah nice clean drive train with new chain: smooth

I love it when I bring my fixed gear in to the shop to work on since having it sitting there always starts conversations with customers who want to start to riding fixed themselves but aren't sure about it or are just curious about the bikes. Just today I've sent three people away thinking of getting a fixie or building one for themselves!

queerpunk 01-08-07 02:49 PM

yo kerplunk, it looks like your fork is on backwards.

how's the handling?
