By the way, what kinda camera do you use Andy? I've been looking into a digital camera and while I don't want to spend oodles of money, I need some nice depth of field and sharp closeups like that!

Holy **** mrwhite.

I could look at your stock everyday until the day I die, and be completely content with my life.

Beaut.

12XU - Nikon D70 which I got back in 2004. I've bounced it a few times, destroyed the stock lens it came with in the process, and picked up some fully manual lenses to use with the digital body. No metering, but you work it out.

Doshkel - cheers. The smile of the new owners face was priceless.

and EVERYONE WEAR A HELMET!

Back to bikes ;)

my nikon bodies and non-zoom lenses have been eminently droppable. [apart from one occasion that i don't want to talk about].

i killed two plastic zooms without even trying on the way to that conclusion.

either way, digital or film, canon or nikon: lovely pictures.

[QUOTE=queerpunk]blucher?

Hmmm.

Blucher is another 'European sounding' - Australian frame

Other Euro-sounding Aussie builders:
Frezoni
Ciombola
Paconi
Michalo
Petrus
Euro ;)

Damn, haven't checked this thread in a few days, I come back, and this. Wow! Seriously, I had in my mind what I wanted my perfect track bike to be, and you know what? This is it. It even looks like my size. 24"? Awesome. I love it.

Wow, I wish BJ would make 'em more like that off the peg. What's that on the bars, at the top of the right hand drop?

A light. Can't link you to it, but I'm sure someone else can.

piwonka 01-18-07 08:32 AM

its one of those little rubber cateye lights.
the full custom frames aren't much more than off the peg...after i was told the geometry of the otp i decided to spend a little more...just went with standard size but steeper angles and tighter rear triangle.

thanks for the compliments, i already broke down and put the B17 on it...i'm gonna see how a 10cm road stem feels that 12cm stem makes it feel a little long.

Edit: i swear the sun hasn't been out since i built that bike...it's been two weeks of ****ty weather and the last three days were ice/snow/sleet/rain...i want to see this paint in the sunlight (not to mention take the bike for a real ride...)

joelv 01-18-07 02:33 PM

Awesome! I will be posting my all white conversion shortly. I like the white grips and different color tires a lot.

In any case, I don't know about gears and I don't really want to ... yet.

Vintage geared road bikes have been a "big thing" for as long
as I can remember. Check Velospace or their prices on eBay.
