I posted my bike in this thread a while ago, but it's been upgraded quite a bit since then. I'm happy with it right now and don't think I'll change it for a while.

Here's my rig. Not sure if it's a UO-8 or a PX-10, but she rides like a dream. Found it at workingbikes pretty much intact for $60. Bought a cheapy wheelset from NYCbikes, added 17t cog & lockring from Yojimbo's, and Vittoria 28's. My favorite ride, all for ~ $200 total. The cotterless cranks have held up for almost 2 years. I've been putting it away for the past few winters, but I've been riding it so far this year. My question is, should I put it away if I want to keep it forever, or are there ways to winter-proof it? Someone suggested electric tape and spraying wd-40 on moving parts. Is that enough?

I dont think they are overrated they are inexpensive and easily upgradable. Not that i have one... haha

my newest build. snow/ice bike. schwalbe 38mm studded tires. gawd dam dem studs are sharp! now all i need is some snow or ice. in the warmer months i plan to get some equally fat cross tires to use it as my all-terrain fixie, theres great trails around here. geared at 38x17 for obvious reasons! i hope my SS MTB doesnt get jealous!

They are Continental Grand Prix 3000, Telekom (or T-Mobile) pink colored sidewalls, 700x 23c, Gray silicon tread, set of 3, new in box. Originally purchased from Sean Kelly's website/shop in the UK. They still have orange ones, but no more pink. Good tires, but I've never mounted them yet. ZenNMotion@yahoo.com. I'll reply after Monday.
