Haha, nah. It's a no-name ~$20 post. I've been trying to find a 27.0 Nitto post here, but so far have had no luck. Only a few days left before i leave, too.

i have no f'in clue but i think it may be where you skid until you're going slow enough to put a foot down and swing the bike around sideways like a hockey stop.

or maybe it's like a skid that's initiated by a bunny hop or skip.

i dunno.

el twe 04-10-07 06:50 PM

Jamaican skid is when you accidentally unclip and put your front foot underneath the pedal to pull up.

I really want to see a video of this. I was outside trying to figure it out, and I can't. I was going crazy until I decided to stop haha.

damn, you should bring home some neat-o cheap-o NJS stuff from japan in your luggage! i'd be game to buy some nitto risers or a 27.0 NJS seatpost (i'm in the same boat as you, running a generic $14 post on my otherwise mostly high end bike).

Simple Mercier Kilo. Gearing 48x17. Very fun bike.

I just realized I'm posting this right under the Colnago. That's sad for me.

I've been sanding down a campy aero 27.2 all week. everyday it gets a little closer to fitting in my 27.0 seat tube.

Kilgore_Trout 04-10-07 09:31 PM

i see you've made some upgrades to the mercier. my recommendation, for the next upgrade get new wheels. the stock wheels ******** suck and i'm working on building my own cuz the stock ones really are garbage.

andre nickatina 04-10-07 09:42 PM

there's no shame in a mercier.

Eric Hanus 04-10-07 09:44 PM

here is mine. its still in the works. i need to get a matching front wheel then i should be all set.

+1

I wish you could still get em, I'm afraid when the 07's come out they wont be green or threaded.

cc700 04-10-07 10:17 PM

i think that green mercier is awesome. it's like driving a porsche instead of a ferrari... you don't have to worry too much about someone opening their door into it. (bad analogy)

bonechilling 04-10-07 11:02 PM

Yeah, I would never worry about someone ****ing up my Porsche!

I've seen the tennis ball on BMX bikes to increase momentum while coasting; What's it for here?

of course you would... but not like you'd worry about someone ****ing up your ferrari.
