the pastel green and purple water bottle. guy's shouldn't know that is such a good color combination, therefore wouldn't have it on their bike. basically, your style.

i vote every bike company to start making every track bike 27.2 seatpost, 22.2 headset (unless threadless, then inch and 1/8), english threaded everything. 68mm bottom brackets, iso taper bb spindles, 120 space back, 100 space front and most importantly 55cm square on all bikes.

I'm late on this one, and maybe it's already been said,
but I've read that, for some reason, 26.8 is the standard
size ST for especially strong sprinters. I have no idea
why though.

Not mine. If we, collectively ask stahu he might show us the finished product - in person looks awsome.

My Surly Crosscheck, decals stripped, Honjo fenders mounted, sweet Jitensha bars fitted with cork grips. Panaracer Pasela tires wrapped around Mavic rims laced to Formula hubs. Sugino cranks, Shimano cantis. Ugly messed up seat from my old mountain bike. Needs a better seat, but I can't decide on a new one. It's a sweet retro setup, very nice to ride.

It used to have flipped north road style bars, no fenders. Looked like a bad-assed old-fashioned racer. Thinking about reverting to the racer style for the summer. Also. . . and I know. . . thinking about adding gears. Many hills in my area and my spindly legs don't have much "torque," just high RPM juice.

I'll post photos of the moustache racer setup before the gears go on.

Oh, and if I mount a cassette, I'll sell the wheels, so keep an eye out for them.

Cheers!

Dustin

Wow! Have you thought of a 3 speed hub instead of deurrailers?

JellyMeetsJam 06-16-07 05:32 PM

The seat seems like an obvious choice (brooks ftw)

My First Fixie

Hey...
http://velospace.org/files/Picture4.jpg.jpg

Just bought this KHS Flite 100 today. Its total piecemeal but its my first fixie so I'm pretty excited. Not sure if I got ripped off or not but for $180 w/o pedals its in decent shape apart from a dent in the frame (not a crack). Here's as many specs as I could come up with:

Frame: Reynolds 520 Chromoly
Handlebars and Stem: Icon alloy track bend , Specialized
Fork and Headset:Stock
Front wheel:Ambrosio 19 Elite
Rear wheel:Stock
Crankset and Bottom bracket:Sugino 165mm
Saddle and Seat Post:Turbo Special/RaceFace
Pedals and Chain:No pedals yet!
Cog/Gearing and Etcetera:48T/16T

Sorry for the weak pic but I just used a cellphone so I could get it up here.

I know its tough to say from the shoddy quality pic but if anyone's got any insight if I got a deal or not let me know. I'm super excited and hope the new wheels will increase my radness.

First projects after I give her an overhaul and get some pedals and brakes on it is new rims and hopefully a new paint job.

Best,
Meech

I hope you used a cell phone, I can't tell if its the bike or the owner

IchbinJay 06-16-07 07:33 PM

Wow, that's a nice ride. You're from Boston? I live down the Cape, we should go riding sometime. Ever make it down to the canal? I'm trying to get some night rides going on down there.
