looks great, man. how do you like the grand compes? a friend has them, and damn are they nice hubs. can't believe i haven't seen more people considering them for a build. also, how are those straps so far? i've been afraid of buying them - though i want affordable doublestraps, i've heard that they split easily. did they split at all upon install? how long have they held up so far?

I had some for awhile, luvthemas had to zip-tie 'em in a few places when he borrowed them because they were splitting. Go for the Toshis, well worth the $100.

They make an amazing sprint chain. They weigh a ton though. I'm using a KOOL SL chain for the moment, but I may switch back....

if dr. seuss were to make a track bike, the frame would be a bit
more wacky, but the drops are dead on.

rodri9o 06-25-07 04:24 AM

abeabe 06-25-07 06:18 AM

br995, can you reccomend a mechanic in the harajuku area? Id love to do my own tune up before I take this on the road but I don't have any tools/grease and dont want to buy a whole set while im here.

auk 06-25-07 06:24 AM

The result of being three things. 1) a hipster, 2) drunk, and 3) granted access to a tube bender.

abeabe: who's jealous? this guy. i don't feel the blue risers from the photo, but i'm sure it'll look better when it's all built up.

Not really. Carnival is there but those jokers did a shyte job building Deathhare's wheels and they're uber expensive. The only people I ever went to for work were Kalavinka. If you're willing to huff it I'd say try to make it there. Otherwise, Y's near Shibuya station seems to have competent people working there (and a girl who spoke english when I went). PM deathhare and see if he knows of anywhere closer to Harajuku.
