cold air return? whatever it is it is nicely corroded from parking wet bicycles over it.
a blue trispoke would have matched the trim in the house better.

It's actually a heater. I live in an early 1900s victorian house in SF.

That is just a temporary frame until I go to Japan later this year then when I come back my bicycle is gonna be Japan n' shi tted out.

Looks like that heater is putting out maybe a bit too much heat, might want to have it looked at before it starts your place on fire.

What freewheel is that?

How did you do the conversion? Eccentric hub or BB?

Unless I'm seeing things, that bike has horizontal dropouts.

Thanks. It is a Miche seatpost. I grabbed a couple of them a few months back when a vendor on Ebay had them for $29 each. The freewheel is a White Industries 18T cog. The dropouts are horizontal which makes all the difference in the world when doing these conversions.
