Just the other day, I was wondering what a transformer bike would look like.
Its a Decepticon.

I am not trying to be rude, but brassnuckles and barenuckles bore me.

why cheap out on the frame when you just spent $1100 on components?

I did the same thing. I will have a nicer frame soon enough.

thats not a door mat

cold air return? whatever it is it is nicely corroded from parking wet bicycles over it.
a blue trispoke would have matched the trim in the house better.

SATANOMENDEATH 08-12-07 09:57 AM

It's actually a heater. I live in an early 1900s victorian house in SF.

That is just a temporary frame until I go to Japan later this year then when I come back my bicycle is gonna be Japan n' shi tted out.

deathhare 08-12-07 10:00 AM

It looks tiny

SATANOMENDEATH 08-12-07 10:07 AM

Looks like that heater is putting out maybe a bit too much heat, might want to have it looked at before it starts your place on fire.
Cool bike though big time

Very nice!

Questions: Is that a black Miche post? Looks almost like carbon fiber.

What freewheel is that?

How did you do the conversion? Eccentric hub or BB?

hiredgoons 08-12-07 01:02 PM

Unless I'm seeing things, that bike has horizontal dropouts.

Thanks. It is a Miche seatpost. I grabbed a couple of them a few months back when a vendor on Ebay had them for $29 each. The freewheel is a White Industries 18T cog. The dropouts are horizontal which makes all the difference in the world when doing these conversions.

it should look slightly less absurd when i swap out the stem, handlebars, seatpost, saddle, and wheels for white components. but, looking absurd is sorta the point i guess.

I love it.

Threw my bullhorns back on + new cog/chainring. 53x18
