It's electrical tape (as the poster above stated). I LOVE the power grips! So easy to get in/out of and they definately strap me in tight.

hey kmike, what kind of chain is that?

It's the stock chain that comes with the Kilo. The website says its a 1/8 KMC 410 but I'm reading (on the Mercier Kilo TT pictures thread) that its really a 3/32. I actually ordered the bike from bikesdirect and suprisingly there werent any big problems. The only thing wrong with mine was that the headset was too tight but the frame was good and the wheels were true.

Of course the tires, pedals, and saddle were utter crap but they are just stock components.

that white tape looks sort of strange; were you trying out a white theme before you paint it or you just wanted it that way?

Oh Noes!!! Where is brayx?? lol. Awesome bike. It's still one of my favorites.

Yep, if he didn't keep telling everyone to prevent forest fires there wouldn't be such severe ones. Forest fires are good, not bad. In fact, many plants use them to spread seeds. Also, forest fires help clear underbrush, making the forest healthier. However, with the US Forest Service policy of preventing fires there is now too much underbrush, and so when a fire starts, it gets out of control pretty quick.

a question about ourys. I had a ***** of a time getting mine on so I lubed them up with just a drop each of Dr Bronners. They slid on well and when the soap dried they didnt slide too much but they still shift a bit. Does anyone actually glue theirs on?

Nothing about the record droughts hitting the entire planet?

And of course Satan doesn't need a chain. Hatred for recumbents powers his ride.

use some alcohol on your oury's. It gets them really slippery and when it dries it makes them extremely tacky. Just don't use too much and when u have them where u want them leave them alone till they dry. If you feel they are drying out as your sliding them up use a drop or two more of alcohol to help you.

I used some WD-40 to get mine on. They seem to be on there good n' tight and they don't move. I just wonder if the WD will cause the rubber to degrad. Any ideas about that, anyone?

deathhare 10-24-07 02:20 PM

Be manly and work them on dry. It takes a little time but Ive always done that with Ourys.
