I think we should call them cages and ropes. That would be sweet.

Wait, no, it wouldn't

So i just picked up my first SS yesterday afternoon.

It's an old Robin Hood frame, flipped & chopped bars. No idea on crank, wheels, etc.

It needs a little love, but that's why i got it...

I hope that is a FG not a SS. Other wise you will end up on your face eventually.

I don't see why you would end up on your face. Maybe the CG on my bikes are too far to the rear, but i can lock my front wheel before flippin. The rear will lift and my face will be ripped of, but i am not flipping.

I said eventually. Front brake only on a SS is not a good idea.

upthecrooks 08-15-07 12:30 PM

It is SS. I'm actually planning on running a rear brake too. OR switching it to FG. After riding it around a bit just having the front brake isn't too bad. Now of course there were no "emergency"/oh ****! situations on my SHORT ride yesterday...

Get urself a rear brake, wouldnt cost as much as a FG. If u want to get an FG then buy one off the shelf for cheap. (Thats the best and cheapest alternative).
Ride safe :D......

If he has the right hub a cog and lockring is not that much.

diff_lock2 08-15-07 03:30 PM

I ride a fixed hub with no lock ring (being a beast, i striped them) and a track cog. Front brake only. No safety issues YET.

I love the silver bike above, save for the core-sample drops.

That's the only issue I have with the bike as well. lol. They were a set I had in the parts bin... any idea for bars? I'd love to hear them!

jayrooney 08-16-07 10:16 AM

the bars are good. just tape them and plug them.
