are those the arayas? damn, I bet the front wheel alone is worth the frame

schnee 10-27-07 08:34 PM

No, just Weinman deep-V's that I took to a local polishing shop.

Both wheels together (+ cost to build them) are worth the frame, though. :o

those look damn good. It's all good, right now the wheels I am running cost about twice as much as the frame:D

Have you tried braking on them?

schnee 10-27-07 08:45 PM

Yeah... they squeaked a bit, but they're all right now. Those parts of the rims have tiny dark rubber streaks on them now, sort of unavoidable, but they don't detract unless you're looking at them from 6" away.

nice work, beef

TimArchy 10-28-07 03:02 AM

yeah, I generally can't get behind throwing modern components on an old frame, but it looks good.

Except maybe the fork.

Anyway, just shows that quality steel frames have class.

Jesse M 10-28-07 05:15 AM

alters are hot. i hope to put one on my bike in the not too distant future.

That's an awfully stupid place for a brake lever.

Man, that thing looks gorgeous. First time an alter stem looks good on a bike to me and one of the first when an oldish frame and modern component mix well. Big ups.

What's that bottle cage?

My issues about your bike are only between myself, my therapist, and my road bike.

I think I'll change out the stem to a black one at some point.

tsunami?

DasProfezzional 10-28-07 04:59 PM

That's a good picture. Natty Light's good for holding up your bike for a photo, and not much else.

I believe it's a Leader LD-735TR. Powercoated glossy black??
