maddyfish 11-03-07 12:10 PM

The wheel. The fender. Please fix that!!!!!!!!!!

papercutninja 11-03-07 12:25 PM

We are in an Aerospoke crisis, people!!

Lightman16 11-03-07 12:32 PM

Blah blah blah... Risers, aerospokes, no brakes, Pistas, etc. It is my bike, I've heard it all before and don't give a ****.
But the fender? Really now? It is called I ride in the rain.

your fender would work a lot better if you mounted it so it wasnt 8" above the tire.

humancongereel 11-03-07 12:46 PM

also, i and others i know consider that to be one of the worst fenders yet, if that's the zefal swan i think it is. the headland one that's popular is okay, but not the most durable. i like my sks x3.

Then why did you post it, if not for the accolades?

Nothing wrong with the Swan. Then again I'm from CA so I'm sure you see worse winter weather than I do...

good for you. I'm glad you don't care cuz you shouldn't I get tired of the hate at times. as long as you like your bike that's all that matters....well that along with actually riding it too and not using it as an accessory piece. is that a tubie A-spoke?

I think you posted this in the wrong thread...there is another sticky you might consider?

humancongereel 11-03-07 02:26 PM

i'm getting tired of all the hate. ever since bsnyc, everyone's into it. but at least he's a) presumably not serious and b)eloquent.

thisnsort one-upsmanship is getting to me. yeah, i'll criticize bikes to an extent, but lately i feel no fun in it anymore because behind each bike is someone riding, and most "jackass" bikes, in the sense the thread originally referred to, were just bikes that needed something fixed to make it better for the rider. the rest, like the felt curbside, were just stupid, but outside those two groups.....the fact that so many bikes that are only minimally ****ed up, if at all ****ed up on levels outside personal aesthetic taste, are being posted leads me to believe people are just being pricks. "OMG! risers and aerospokes!" yeah, they bars enable steering and the wheel goes round and round. so it's not your style, or it's over done? so what? maybe if the risers are chopped to 4 inches on either side, you've got something to talk about, otherwise it's not your bike and your taste doesn't matter. i see lots of bikes i don't like, but i'll admit they're good in their own way, and just ignore them and never think about it again, not start some damn flamewar.

humorously harsh advice can help a person with a sense of humor. all this hate is just bringing a very negative pall over some stuff (including humorously harsh criticism) that really should be fun and, in its own way, helpful.

heh, just read this on sffixed....

"If the owner posts a picture of his bike on Velospace, he's opened the door to outside opinions such as mine. Do I really, honestly care? No, I don't. Is it fun to say "Oh, I wouldn't do that! I would do this!" Hell yes, it is. That's what we're all doing on here right? Talking about bikes we love and hate and saying "Eww!" or "Yeah!" as we see fit."

now that i can get down with. it's when it just seems mean that i don't like it.

You are right. I think its obvious that the Bianchi is a fine bike, I just prefer more classic aesthetics like you said. I did not intend for anything to involve that level of seriousness or for it to be construed as any sort of personal attack. I love bikes and riding them so so much. Everything involving them should be fun. Lightman, I apologize if you took my posts seriously; they were intended to reflect my tastes and parody the "this sucks" posts. Again as said in the above quote, it is very good in its own way, I think it looks pretty fun to ride and thats what counts.
