“Walter Godefroot is the only one of my adversaries who I never beat in a direct fight for victory” - Eddy Merckx

goodo god that bike is so awesome. i'm closing this window and riding to work with the pics of the godefroot being the last thing i see so it can remain in my head for the next 30 minutes....yes.

am I the only person that doesn't find the godefroot exciting?

piwonka 11-01-07 10:15 AM

I certainly hope you are the only one.

TehK 11-01-07 10:52 AM

It's simplicity and elegance make it exciting.

piwonka 11-01-07 01:36 PM

i'd ride this one.

1987 Bianchi, rebuilt. Mavic CXP's, Sugino XD Crank, and some other assorted things.

I don't like the red chain but it was the only one I could get my hands on at the time.

Can't top the Godefroot but thought i'd share my fixie.

It's a budget build, tried to stay under 50 euro's. Ended up at 150. Still very satisfied.

The rear wheel is a dischub conversion. Drilling the cog was a pain in the ass. Screwed 8 bits. It worked out great in the end though. I totally spend 20 euro's on the hub and spokes. The rim was already hanging in my room longing for some spokes.

The Alter stem comes with pin-up girl. She wears a pink dress matching the color of the bike. Lucked out on that one.

I'm from the Netherlands, in Amsterdam there are a few fixed riders. Last week i spotted a Kestrel. Sweet!
Riding fixed here is quite dangerous because of all the cyclists. They're just like a colony of ants, not minding faster bikers. Believe me, there can be too much of them...

Add a link to your chain and post a pic of the top of your stem.

Live2Die 11-01-07 05:01 PM

You may want to add a link to that chain. Looking good though! did you rattlecan that frame?

Live2Die 11-01-07 05:02 PM

sux when you post at the same time and then look like a fool repeating posts.

A whole link won't work. I ordered a half link. Should do the trick.

I rattlecanned it, but with a lot of care and patience. A lot of sanding, primer and about 5 coats of paint. I still have to polish the frame.

@Cynikal, will make a picture of the pin-up this weekend. Hope you can wait that long. I can give you a few links if you like to see girls...:D

Why couldn't the thread just die happily after the Godefroot? What a beautiful ending that would have been.

notable parts: bridgestone frame, truvativ omnium cranks with zen ring, king headset, level hub to deep v, and sketchy ass tri-spoke.

I saw that bike heading north down high st. today.
