I truly dont know what the hell that frame is? Some tell me Target Schwinn, some say Giant, some go as far as Nashbar, Ive seen the newer Nashbar and they look a hell of a lot like this one, but Im at the point where it doesnt matter anymore as the bike has a very sweet ride and Im loving it more and more :) JackWGroves, your not being a dick, just posting your opinion is all :) I know that they dont look that great but the 2 sets of brake levers are what I needed, I feel a hell of a lot more comfortable knowing I can access the brakes while riding in both positions ;) :)

baxtefer 11-17-07 06:25 PM

it looks like those ebay "track" bikes

el twe 11-17-07 06:26 PM

That's where my money's at.

Never said it was a track bike :) its my version of a single speed, thats all, :D I built it because I wanted a single speed that looks and works the way I want it to and thats what I have :p

i know, i have a problem with that bike, because i like it and i think it looks cool, yet i know that part of it is soooo wrong...

hey, did i see you rockin' a neon green bike the other day? whoever rode it was going fast enough and i was watching traffic intently enough that i just caught a brief glimpse of the face, thought it might have been you....

shants 11-17-07 07:13 PM

nope - you'll usually see me on my grey sticker-laden gitane track with red wheels if i'm commuting in semi-questionable weather.

humancongereel 11-17-07 07:17 PM

well, you may have a doppelganger then.

yeah, i know that gitane.

I like the bike. I want to know about the back fender, is the rear wheel spray worse than the front wheel spray? Does the downtube work well enough?

AnarkistAttack 11-17-07 07:48 PM

Ok, I am a newbie. How do you run 4 brake levers without 4 cables?

humancongereel 11-17-07 08:11 PM

cyclocross levers have an extra hole so you can run the cable straight through the lever. i've never actually set one up, so i'm no expert, but i've been told the basic concept. the cable goes in one side and out the other.

No, but it takes more work to install a front fender on an Angus (and most bikes). Take it from someone who butchered a set of Freddy Fenders to do just that.

How about more shots of the dropouts. Did you get it custom painted?

ilikebikes 11-17-07 08:30 PM

I got it from a guy that had no info about it, he told me he bought it off another guy that had no info on it but rode it around for one summer, the paint may be orig but Im not sure as the seller wasnt sure either, heres the pic :)

Is that a washer and a locking nut? Like this?
http://www.trailertek.com/acatalog/nut14.jpg

If so, might want to get a set of track nuts. Might save you from a chain problem later.

ilikebikes 11-17-07 10:31 PM

No, they are the correct nut and washer the wheel came with, thanks for the advice/concern though ;) :)
