Lastly, the rear brake bridge isn't designed for a short reach caliper. That's really odd because the fork that came with the bike does require a short reach caliper.
The only cosmetic issue I have are the brake bosses on the top tube. I know it makes the bike more functional, but zip-tying a brake cable housing to the tube to use a rear brake is functional also. Doing without the bosses will make the bike look immensely cleaner without a rear brake.
Thanks for the input- we just put our next order in and we already saw the brake issue- on future bikes both front & rear will be for standard reach brakes. Also- moving the downtube bosses up 30mm to fix that problem. We are having the rear brake cable guide braze-ons removed- we have had others suggest this also.
For the BB drop height- it is a bit complicated and the changes won't make it into this next order but we are going to look at that for the next time.

Keep up the input!

I bought one of these frames as well and my only complaint is the bottom bracket height as well. I had a set of sweet campy cranks that were 172.5 mm and they appeared dangerously close to the ground. Had to search out a cheap set of 165's for now.

The carbon fork they had on them is really nice. Got mine built up black on black on black and it looks really sweet.

I had the same issue with a Tomasso Augsta frame form Randall Scott Cycles. They denied it and said thye have no issues mounting standard rear brakes. With the wheel all the way froward in the RD, I barley had the pads touching the rims. No way to really even brake. 99% of the pads were on the tire.

Sent it back and got a full refund. Their tech dept is clueless!

Thanks for the input- normally we recommend 165mm or 170mm max for any track frame- 172.5mm is a bit big for any fixed gear bike.
Notwithstanding we are going to be looking into tweaking the geometry for a future release frame to get the bb height up a bit.

Before going on- let me mention that the current frame design is totally functional and we have a lot of happy customers with it. We have sold over 150 frames to date, and feel good about the design overall.

The next batch of frames are expected in late January- this will have the standard reach brake mounts F+R, the bottle cage mount on the down-tube is being moved up 20mm, and the top tube brake mounts are being removed. Everything else will stay the same.

Same tubing- 4130 chromoly with a butted top tube. No lugs at this point. What we are after is a very inexpensive bike that holds up well and can be built into a lot of different styles. I am not against having a higher-end model sometime, but for now I think this is filling a demand out there for a great priced entry-level fixed frame.

Once again- thanks for all the great discussion- we really appreciate it!

There are people in the track forum who use 175mm cranks, because of their leg measurements and a frame designed with a higher bottom bracket.

I can understand- we are looking into getting it changed.

Anyone else interested in this frame? We currently have 4 people in on the Group Buy forum, and one more person would make the frame $125 shipped!

He can offer "one hundred dollars less" if you get in on the group buy.

No idea on the weight, here's a pic, it is a bit lighter (that would be sarcasm-WAY LIGHTER) than my fix converted 80's schwinn varsity. Rides a whole lot nicer too.
