Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Not so much a speed run, but more concerned about safety on a run away down hill, looks like a flat lander hauler.

Not a big change, just new pedals, clips, straps. And I took off the handlebar grips.
Not bad for a beater bike. Change the saddle, handlebars and the fork and it will look decent. Are you running the brake on a non-machined rim? How is it?

I try to avoid using the brake, but before I changed the brake pads, it left a bit of a mark on the rim, so that sucked.
Yeah, it was just built a few weeks ago, so I havent had the time/money to get everything i fully need for it.
In the first pic, those pedals actually weren't mine, I had to borrow them off my friend since he couldnt bike anyways.

I plan on building a better one in the near future.

Well i think it depends if its powdercoated or anodized. I used brakes on black non machined deepvs and it wasn't bad at all since they were anodized.

I'll call your Bianchis and raise you a Paramount

My 1976 Schwinn Paramount P14, custom sized 19-1/4" seat tube c-t. Note the factory drilled Campy hubs. Cranks are 151 bcd. Wish I still had the original Campy Record Pista pedals. Classic geometry, 74 degrees st and ht, major toe-to-tire overlap.

I thought it was for "green" dating, hook it to the back of your bike with a longer arm and handle bar post (chainless & gearless tandem concept) and make her work that pizza dinner off her thighs ? Why should you be the only one pedaling on that date ?

if you don't care about period correctness too much, Origin 8, surprisingly, makes knockoff old-style Campy rings.
https://www.origin-8.com/product_deta...cl1=CHAINRINGS
looks right for the vintage, but at a fraction of the cost. thinking of throwing one on mine to save the original.

btw, very nice Pista.
