No WC stripes please, they look stupid on there, and as already stated, you guys have not earned them.
It's just a respect thing for me. It takes away from the teams, riders, and all the people who have been involved in the R/D behind making parts/designs to be competed, and win, at that level.
You guys have done absolutely nothing, at all, nothing to earn that. You don't design your own frames from the ground up, you don't have millions in R/D, you don't sponsor anybody. You just piggy back on the factories for deals. No bashing what you do, you offer great deals for people, and it's cool that you guys offer the "generic". But WC stripes are a no no, and a disgrace.

i don't think any peice of equipment period deserves stripes. not a saddle, not a frame, not socks. why? because it isn't about the name brand (who prolly gets there bits from taiwan). it's the rider. bianchi? nope. masi? nope.

if merckyx would have won a wc on a walmart unicylce, would you say that walmart should have the right to put stripes on your oatmeal boxes? hell no. basically, no peice of product should have it. no matter what.

every bianchi owner sports their wc stripes proudly, and i doubt the WC winners care if joe hipsterfixie does barspinz on it at starbucks (disgrace much to the stripes??!). why? because their jersey and trophy are in a case at their house, and that's what they care about.

if it were such a big deal, past wc winners would be begging companies to remove it from everything, and customers would boycott products that use it.

+1 on it's just stickers. enough of the hating on the stripes. it's just a bike. enjoy it and have fun on it.

If we're brainstorming here, then I'm brainstorming the idea that celeste is a bad choice.

As far as my opinion mattering more than yours, you said it, not me.

So only bianchi can use Celeste, but any one can use WC stripes?

+1, I'd go for celeste (among other colors). We're still talking affordable here. That bianchi is $800. Some of us just want the colorway...

And only people who actually played on a team that won a Superbowl are allowed to wear NFL "Superbowl Champion" sweatshirts.

the gist of my point is this:

you can't hold people to a double standard. either everyone can use wc stripes or no one can. everyone can wear super bowl gear, or no one can. cycling is no better or worse than any other sport and shouldn't be treated differently.

since the stripes appear everywhere on things that were made by a company but never used to win, the companies themselves are in essense saying, "we don't respect it and we don't care". ie. bianchi pista frames made in tiawan didn't win a wc. a good rider won a wc.

that's why i feel like the stripes on consumer goods mean nothing. the stripes on the jersey that proudly sits with the rider is the only thing that mattters.

this applies to colors too. colors are colors. why can't BD make a celeste bike, or a tan bike? give the people what they want at a price they want.

We need to make a poll or something for a lugged version to show the demand for it. Maybe it'll convince BD to get it rolling.

If it's going to be fully lugged then I would suggest going classy and removing all options for racks and such.

Keep the rack mounts and stuff on the WT version instead.

what i'd like to see is 1 of 2 things:

1. world championship stripes appearing on ONLY a jersey worn by the winner.

-or-

2. people being ok with the fact that is everywhere.

i think #1 is too much to ask for, but i'm ok with #2 too. this is why:

because #1 can't happen, i'd like to believe that the stripes could instead represent a fan's respect for the great acheivements of the sport, to be worn out of awe for the PEOPLE who won it. like a stanley cup hat worn by the fans.

the stripes look nice, on this bike, as a border for the chrome. but it also looks nice without them as well. i just want to see this bike as a stripper model with the chrome top tube brake clamps! and i want it soon!

lets all be cool and keep this hobby and sport fun!

On complete bike, I might do a few different parts, if anyone has ideas on that; I would love to hear that

On colors: I would love ideas
I really like the Tangerine with Chrome
Plus I will for sure do full Chrome
But how about other combos?
Black/Chrome; RED/Chrome; Purple/Chrome; etc??

Looks like a Schwinn Madison.
