Another question! I've never used toeclips before so I was wondering how far down my foot they were supposed to reach. Mine reach a bit past the balls of my feet. Is this normal? Or should I switch the pedals out for something with more reach?

I still haven't ordered yet but I am having second thoughts now due to the recent-ish comments about bad welds, crappy paint, and now ^^. I originally liked this bike cause it's cheap, decal-less, and after swapping out parts it probably will still cost less than a better stock bike or building from scratch... but now I am thinking it might be worth it to drop the extra $100-200 for a Kilo or Mark V. What do you guys think? People who have been riding the Track for a while, any regrets or would you buy it all over again?
I would buy it all over again; I love how it's decal-less. I've gotten several compliments from other cyclists at the community center I work at, and one guy stopped me and asked if I built it myself and what the benefits of riding a fixed gear bike were. He was interested in building one himself.
The only things I haven't liked are things that can be changed like the color of the seat post (switched for another one I had), stem length (another coming in the mail), popped innertubes (tire liners).

Awwww. Yeah I was talking to you! Yeah, I took everything off except for the head badge. I still like to identify what it is, ya know?

Cglenny = amazing idea.
Still waiting on the 17t eightinch cog to ease up the gear inches on mine....ordered 3 days ago....after that, _maybe_ a new saddle (rocking the Selle Italia Initiale right now and it's decent, but nothing special). Might try tipping the angle toward the front if possible. Anyone else do this??

Finally picked up some cheap bullhorns. Flat Syntace 26mm dia 44cm wide.
Was curious to see how they felt and didn't have time to wrap them, so I just went out with no wrap and wore gloves.
I don't see how some riders like going around with no tape on the bars. Not a good fit for the hands, and not comfortable
Rode along the Central Valley Greenway and liked the bullhorns for cruising.
Didn't care for the bullhorns when climbing from the CVR up Rupert to 29th.

I was looking at a set of Syntace bullhorns too, it was only 20 bones on our CL. I didn't go for it because I'm content with my own bullhorns and I picked up a classic drops from OCB for $5. Didn't ride today, too windy and rainy...did you ride today?

If I wanted a pair of cross-levers near the stem and brake hoods on my drop bars, what would I need? As of now, I have front and rear brakes (the rear brake that came stock, and I purchased a front brake lever/caliper/cable.) Would I need to purchase a second set of calipers/cables along with the brake hoods?
Also, would having two sets of brake levers reduce my braking power at all?
Thanks for your help!

The rain on Tuesday was unbelievable I am so happy I wasn't out on my bike when it really started pouring.
Unfortunately I only get the time to ride in the evening, so I've got a Stella 200N strapped to my helmet.... battery is starting to go so I have to find a replacement.
Biking isn't cheap!

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this Motobecane Track bike. I'm planning to order this bike, but I am not sure if I should get the 54cm or 56cm. I am 5'9, with an inseam of 31 inches. What size should I get? I don't want to be hunched over too much when I ride my bike, but I don't want to get a giant bike that I can't ride either.

Still scratching my head how two pedestrians stopped on the designated bike path to talk, one person was on each side of the bike path, talking over the dividing line. It's Vancouver, it's not like there are no bikes here

So I rode out to meet a client today... and realized for casual or flat land the bullhorns are so much more comfortable. Drops are great for climbing. Bullhorns back on...

Was it the Dunsmuir path? Some people doesn't realize it's marked off as bike lane and they wait for the light on the designated area...happened to me twice today.
