I took off my socks and there was a cut on the back of my foot from these. Probably from the hard upper heel material.
Anyone else have this problem?

I don't think they're that uncomfortable to walk in, a little stiff, but not bad.

I think cutting the back of the foot is one of the original complaints the shoes had when they were first released, though I haven't notice it the 2 days I've had mine (Midways).

skadoosh 04-20-10 07:34 AM

I got mine yesterday. They fit pretty well. They are the same size as my Samba vulcanized, and same size as my superstars. They were about a 1/2 size bigger than my chucks though, but I usually get chucks 1/2 a size smaller anyway.

They seem pretty nice. The cloth is a lot thicker than the chucks. And the sole is stiff!

This happens to me with like every shoe I buy until I wear them in.

i got that from my van's slip ons when i first got them. now i have a fat callous there.

got grey kursks last thursday. wore them saturday, walked around maybe 3 miles that day. the heel is falling apart and threads are showing. also my left shoe only had one metal endcap instead of both like my right shoe.

I like the shoes, and at first i would consider buying them if i need to get new shoes, but seeing as they only lasted about 5 hours before showing noticeable wear...

badonis 04-22-10 02:35 AM

I definitely wouldn't pay $70 for these. Maybe $40.

LupinIII 04-22-10 11:18 AM

that's what i was thinking, but i buy all my shoes at outlets and rarely pay more than $40 (and that's only if I feel like being spendy)

after the way mine have been though, i'd probably spend 10 max

It looks like I missed out on this by a month. If anybody has a size 10 mens that they don't want or doesn't fit I'll take them and pay shipping.

Got 10.5 Midway's in Grey... Exactly what I requested (except I got black sole instead of white, no big) so major props to Chrome for that. I wear 10.5 in Vans and these seem slightly too big... My foot doesn't slip once they're snug, but only my big toe occupies the space underneath the toe cap, so they feel a bit odd walking in.

I'm curious how riding in these with clips are? I use clipless, but I would assume if they're half a size too big for everyone, the front of the toe clip would end up putting half a size less of foot on the pedal surface... Not something I'd want to mess with.

Other than the sizing, they look pretty good. $90 is steep, but if you think about it paying over $50 for a bag seems pretty steep too. I don't mind dropping a lot of money on something as long as I can get longevity out of it... On the same note, even if I paid for them and they last me a year, it would be better than my last (and final) pair of vans I bought that lasted 4 months for $45.

Thanks. now get some bangs.

Did you get the free Chrome shoes?

Scrodzilla 04-23-10 02:20 PM

Easy with the 'insults', big guy. The mods might shut this thread down too.

I wouldn't wear Chrome shoes if they were free. Wait......

10 Wheels 04-23-10 02:24 PM

So what are you doing on this thread trying to insult a mod?

Scrodzilla 04-23-10 02:27 PM

Not "insulting". Just having a bit of fun.

illdthedj 04-23-10 02:58 PM
