Luckily you didn't build up that 735 scrod; now you have an excuse to build up a special.

Scrodzilla 09-07-11 08:01 PM

Who said I didn't build up the 735? ;)

I'll most likely go for a Gara over a Special.

I bet scrod's finally lost it and decked it out with parts from a thruster fixie which he pimped out with his 725's parts, aerospoke and all.

Damn!!!! I may have to get a Gara.

MuppetMower 09-07-11 09:45 PM

How did that happen? Very cool though. They are some sweet bikes.

If it's the leader + Dodici deal your asking about; Dodici originally did not have a North American/ a distributor in the Americas. This as a result made people not willing to buy them as opposed to other brands which are well established here. And the people who did buy them before this deal, often had to wait over a month to receive their frame and then be nailed with VAT and etc. fees from international shipping. This business move is beneficial to both leader and dodici; dodici seriously increased their market base and leader is going to make some middleman money by being the exclusive north american/ americas dealer as of yet.

max5480 09-08-11 12:07 AM

The wait time was the reason I didn't get a Dodici. Anyone know if the brand labels are staying the same? For instance, are they going to call the Dodici Special the Leader 808? What about quality? Still handmade in Italy?

I may have to get a Super Leggero...

hamfoh 09-08-11 12:13 AM

There's a guy who rides with us who has a Dodici Special, I don't like it (aesthetically) much in person. It seriously looks like it belongs nowhere near an urban road.

That Gara is going to be hard not to order though. Who wants to buy my 725!?

seriously I want a gara. I wuuuunt one. raaaaahn. stawwwwp it

max5480 09-08-11 12:25 AM

I know, ****. I actually ordered one... but then canceled because I heard the wait time was three months... I guess I could have waited... Ah **** that! Tha maSH MAN!

Maybe that one dude who was selling his Dodici Special could chime in... I remember him saying something like it wasn't that "special"

oh i see:
from pc
Leader Bike is now the sole distributor for Dodici Cicli, Milano in North America. In October 2011, Leader Bike will receive the new 2012 Dodici Gara, 9MM FGFS, and Polo framesets.

so I guess the frames Leader is distributing are all going to be produced in China. Dodici will still be producing some in Italy at the Dodici "custom" shop.

well that kills it...

Of course the brands are staying separate LOL

725s really do look like different bikes with riser bars on them. I like

Fellow member lilcphoto (Alex) has one ;)

I'm sure he'll be glad to answer whatever questions you have about the frame in a PM to him.

Lilcphoto 09-09-11 11:40 PM

Definitely. Great frame. Would love to try out a 722-tr to compare it to.

calv 09-14-11 11:01 AM

In terms of stiffness, would the 2011 Leader 721 and 725 be the same?

Scrodzilla 09-14-11 11:23 AM

Even if there is a very slight difference (which I doubt there is), you'd never notice it.
