Frame was designed for a fork that has 80-100 mm of travel.

I think most of us will be lost on this one :/

1x9 with no chainguide on the front.

Fork has 8 inches of travel, where specialized designed it for 3"-4" inches of travel. Putting a DH fork on a xc bike can lead to the head tube getting sheared off.

Question- I can see another chainring on that crankset... is that just the owner being bad? Or is the idea that he can hop off the bike and manually change it?

also I'd love a video of the guy riding that thing.

He didn't bother removing the other chainring.

Angie built a 1X8 with no chain guide and has never dropped a chain. It's a road bike though, which I'm certain makes a bit of a difference.

Do you honestly think the first one is comfortable to ride? The saddle to bar drop is like 2 foot LOL. I just don't see an efficient bike there.

It's ugly and dumb but it's hardly jackass in the context of this thread. They still look like fairly unremarkable.

I quoted it for the frame, it's like a 727 but worse.

This dude sells all sorts of obscure low-end 80s road bikes and MTBs converted to SS. They're generally **** but this one is exceptionally bad because of the fork, and the price.

Other than the fork and that goofy ass seat, the two other things that bother me- the lever placement and the throttled cables- are easily fixed. Ambitious price for sure.

On road, it doesn't really matter I know a person who has a 1x10 setup for time trials. That specialized is/was being used for DH/freeride applications.

(I don't check this thread everyday, so please be patient with me.)
