WUT?

It just happened to you.

The Design uses tubes that were not repairable in to hold two pieces of chain across the cog, and then wrap behind the bands holding the chain on the cog as a way to prevent direct metal or thin pieces of taut tubing from putting pressure on the skin. Then a piece of tubing is split and tied to either side of the cog to create the band that holds it onto ones wrist. In this particular picture it was on my wrist. I was originally going to use a hot glue gun to achieve many of these things but I was unable to use one due to time/movement constraints. I was also originally going to tie a fresh flower between the two chain pieces but as I was getting ready to leave the Oven I had an idea for using a tube to create the flower. In a flash of inspiration which I gave myself a little pat on the back for I took a thin 700c tube and cut a flower and put it under the chains. I was really excited about how well it came out, despite how badly the ride went. Looks a good deal better in person, especially from a direct view.

You should have used a Phil Wood cog.

That'll be for the "one" when I meet her.
She'll ride a track bike and make me work to keep pace. She'll ride suntour superbe's because they are sexy and a lugged steel frame with hearts in the lugs.
She'll skid because its fun and tease me for riding aluminum because only steel is real. Heels will be considered "riding shoes" when we go out and she'll wear spandex under her skirts.
Oh one day i'll find my love.

I just lurk the heck out of FGSS and don't contribute.

Butthash 05-13-11 08:29 PM

Scrod, have I ever told you that you look quite a bit like a LBS Dave here in Eureka?! Well, if not, you do, cept he just has long hair, not dreads.

avner 05-15-11 02:57 AM

I got missed kazzed tonight and biked home on hollywood blvd. Got a high five from some cute chick and yelled at some drunk guys pissing in the home depot parking lot. All in all It feels like a successful night.

redpear 05-15-11 04:29 AM

I don't think bike shoes look goofy.

i beep back at cars that beep at me.
i also sing at the top of my lungs whatever song is bumpin from the mercedes/audi/bmw/whateverelseishoodrichnowadays

though it was funny. i was bikin on broadway in brooklyn the other day. some land rover was blasting an R&B jam. i turned the corner, and some audi was blasting the same song just continuing. i thought it was cool to have iPods and **** hooked up to your stereo, not playing the radio. ahh, how the times are a changin..

That's the only way my wifey can ride my stuff. Which she does, she commutes on my nirone c2c because I left it back home and has a lower concave down top tube which helps her compensate with less of a heel or even a pair of ballet flats. If you're wondering, I left a pair of keo pedals on it and leans sideways a little to compensate the size difference when she has to unmount. Her company pays for her BART fare and our station started charging for parking. She tells me she gets sup'd a lot especially with the bike being the ice breaker for the guys.

Had a couple tallboys with the fixie crew. Someone bought a bottle of E&J to celebrate my friend and I rejoining the ranks of alcoholics of the world to which my friend and I stared with concern. avoided the E&J for the most part.

For the record, I am perfectly ok with my nick becoming a synonym for being off the wagon. In fact, I consider it a point of pride (and something which my actually alcoholic friends would find hysterical.)

Confession: I'm too lazy to go out to my friend's "crust punks" party (must bring crust-based food and/or punk records and/or booze) thanks to a wicked headwind on the ride home today. So I'm staying in and catching up on Doctor Who.

Leukybear 05-16-11 06:17 PM

I regularly trackstand on my roadie if I can; saves me from clipping out.

Vegan dumpster food and Antischism, Destroy, etc. Records!? Sounds like a night! (Not sarcasm) The "Must bring" part isn't very Crust, but can't always be winning!
