well, I'll still have a front brake. I just want to see how well rotafix holds up since it no longer matters if I screw the fixed gear side of my hub. I need to stop messing with my bikes, I keep breaking stuff. |

If you plan on riding for any real distance, the seat is the one thing you shouldn't cheap out on.
You can get used leather saddles for reasonable prices. There are other options besides Brooks that can be more/less expensive, depending on the brand. I got a "used" b17 that'd never been ridden or put on a bike for $90. Not bad considering they're $120 new. Not to mention it's easily the most comfortable saddle I've ever used. |
the velo-orange "knock off" saddles are really great.
about 30% less then brooks. |

I'm pretty sure if I ever get a Brooks, I'll get it off Wallbike. Even though they're more expensive than the Velo Orange versions, the 6-month return policy is pretty great.
|
I also wanna try a Brooks for I hear they are quite comfortable, however I try not to buy leather, don't wanna spend the money, and don't particularly find them attractive on many bikes.

Selle Anatomica fits the lines of a racier looking build a lot better than a Brooks and is arguably better. Still looks a bit out of place on a very modern looking bike.

When I 1st started looking at bikes I had no idea about sizing and bout a bike too small... on an impulse I found a Peugeot I REALLY liked and bought it thinking it was going to be my size, turned out to be too big.
So now I feel like Goldie Locks trying to find the "just right" size, except now I'm not buying another bike and going to make the smaller one work for me. |
I tend to look at bikes I see while riding around town more than girls :(
|
I think I'll go home and put my risers back on. I miss the hipster hybrid thing.
|
I went riding with a girl around my neighborhood yesterday and did a skid just because it made me feel cool....
|
After leaving some bars in Madison, i bombed some of the smaller hills and did some skids kicking out my back tire. For a second, I felt like Emi...
|
I asked a girl out to the Prom ride tonight just so I could have someone to wear the cogsage I was making for it.
|
Also, I downed an entire full throttle and I'm too wired to focus at work.
|
sure a brooks may look weird when doing photo shoots with your bike, but when you are actually riding and your ass is covering it, who cares?

Well then, good job.
Also when you said "Snarky", my mind went to: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...eyrn/snarf.jpg |

If a Brooks only has a few miles on it, it's not broken in.
