Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Me too, but I always scold myself by noting that at least they are out riding.

The reason i ride with straps or clips is because im an idiot. I tend to fall and be stupid so im afraid of the straps caging me in when i eat poop if i mess up

- I hate unwrapped drops, and risers with tape instead of grips.
- I sent my brand new Godzilla frame to get powdercoated immediately after it arrived, despite the high quality paint job. Sorry Toyo!

- I spend too much money for aesthetics.. I make it fit my budget by eating horribly and never going out to shows/cafes/society.

Rock on, fellow sqrls! I have to admit, I do love makeup and jewelry (although most of my jewelry is costume or from the thrift store). But it's only recently that I have enough $$ to spend on those things AND still have enough for bikes and other stuff. And I read too many fashion blogs and bike blogs which always makes me want to spend more money. Getting old sucks sometimes, but not having to live paycheck to paycheck is nice.

My bike is too big for me, I need to buy a shorter quill stem but can't find any around 70mm that aren't too pricey.

Bikes: N+1

I know, so many pretty girls out here and I never had the nerve to ask any of them out It's really a bummer that one I continually have an crush on is ten years older than I am.

I feel like a push over because I shortened the ride I hosted and quit the climb because the other riders were being wimps, even though I posted the damn route

I think I must have the dreaded N+1 disease - bought two more frames this week because they were my size and think I will build them up .

And I like listening to Romanian pop music .

Bikes: bieks

Confession: It's been 10 days since I flipped my wheel to the fixed side and I've only ridden it once.

I ride my geared bike to schlep all my stuff to work and for my long weekend rides, and I've not been feeling social lately so haven't been riding around town.

I don't like to ride around town alone (60% of the time) but when riders come do small talk and be friendly I tend not to speak at all...kinda like Raj on Big Bang.

My drivetrain renders out to 72 GI and I still think that's too big.

Bikes: yes

When my front brake caliper seized up recently (no idea why, maybe getting caught in the rain the day before?) I gave brakeless a try for a couple days, first just for around-the-hood errands, then eventually for my Queens to midtown commute. I kinda like it. Hate to say it, but there definitely is something to (again this phrase kinda irritates me) "that Zen feeling" that people keep going on about.
Still gonna get a new caliper and keep a front brake on eventually, but now I know that i can at least hold my own with the cool kids. Bring on the sqrls!

Bikes: Too Many

I haven't ridden my track bike in months and I really don't miss it. Maybe I should dust it off and see if I should keep it.
