I occasionally make snarky comments to roadies, and then immediately feel like an *******.

Wow, this thread has turned into an amazing group therapy session!
Conf.-I go back and forth on what handlebars I am using, it often depends on how and where I wanna ride. |
I've considered shaving my legs.
I've been dropped. Considering a new ti race bike. Really want ti. Used to me is new. I ride probably further right than I need to, because I'm sometimes scared of getting run over by inattentive drivers. Mostly late at night, DUI'o'clock. Even during the day, depending. Should take the lane more often. But it's generally high-speed, arterial roads with no shoulders or expectations of bicycles. Wish there were more bike lanes, or at least shoulders, around here. I enjoy frequenting A&S. |
I like derailleurs.
|
**** got GOOD since YoBoi...
my track bike and road bike boost my confidence a thousandfold when supping girls i wish i could wheelie and backwards circle and keo spin just so i could sup girls more |

I dislike "classy" bikes. Leather tape, brooks saddles, etc. Get that **** out of my sight and back to the early 1900's.
I can't justify owning two of the same type of bike. Ironically enough, I currently have two road bikes... and to make matters worse, they are the same model... just a few years apart, with different paint jobs and components. The one I put more effort into finding is the less nice one. Still debating which one I'll sell. Lately, I've been paying more attention to road bikes than to sweet fixies. With time, I've come to see sweet fixies as more of a just for fun, simple, easily customizable commuter / beater thing. Not so much as a serious ride anymore. I can't ever see myself not owning a sweet fixie. The word "fixie" is stupid. I use it ironically. Almost everyone I know personally uses the word "fixie" seriously. This includes coworkers at the shop. Most of my coworkers' sweet fixies are expensive, "rare" track bikes that they've spent way too much money on, yet still can't figure out how to setup in a non-Jackass way. Yes, I'm currently working at a bike shop. It might be short-lived. I love bikes, but I'm not really into the "scene". Moving from fixies to roadies. Ironic use of words. Currently working at a shop. Anti-scene. AND I wear skinny and cutoff jeans. Holy ****, I AM a hipster. I'm kind of fat, don't have any piercings or sick ink so maybe it cancels out. I gained MAD weight over this winter. Feeling super slow. I'm doing the 5 borough tour this year. Really doing it for friends who were excited to get into it. I prefer to ride alone. |
gah, so much of this thread applies.
Confession: Now that a bunch of friends ride fixed, I want to switch back to geared on group rides just to be the different one. |

There are at least 3 guys at my university that I regularly see riding bikes with LOOK style pedals wearing sneakers (or once, TOMS). One is a Specialized, the other a LeMond, not sure about the third. I really wonder.

I cannot resist putting high-dollar sh1t on my commuter bike. ugh
|
The word fixie does not bother me at all.
I'm also jumping onto the "looking-at-roadies-more-than-fixies" band wagon. |
I fell twice on the same ride. At a complete stop. With one foot un-clipped and on the ground. At the same intersection, going different ways.
|
And you created a new account to cover your shame?
I backpedal a bit when trackstanding on a freewheel so people know it's not a fixie and that I can still trackstand... as though anyone would care. It's pretty self conscious/sad. I used to never put my feet down on rides even if I was tired. |
I can't hold a trackstand for more than a second or two.
Still get laid so DGAF |
riding fixed is scary and difficult for me, go ahead and laugh.

So much of this thread is true.
I've lurked BF for a few years now and never post. I feel like I know all of you, but, i don't really. I love conversions I got a bianchi frame just because it was a bianchi I'm putting a rear brake on my next build I like building and fixing bikes more than i like riding them I like flipping bikes Sometimes i wanna do tarcky things to my bike and don't because i don't want people to talk **** about my bike I don't post my bikes in the "Post your Bike" thread because i don't people to talk **** about my stuff even though i know it looks good and has good components |
