:( Sorry for your loss

skielbasa 03-13-13 03:18 PM

Sorry to hear that.

misskaz 03-13-13 03:19 PM

So sorry Scrod. Losing a beloved pet and best friend is hard enough when it's expected, I can't even imagine the pain and shock you're going through. Hang in there. :(

Mumonkan 03-13-13 03:22 PM

sorry scrod, animals always have a special place in your heart and it sucks when they leave a hole

Training.Wheels 03-13-13 03:28 PM

Condolences, Scrod..

Then the ride went to ****.

Front flat. Got dropped because they couldn't hear me over the headwind. Beast mode engaged to try to catch up. At the 25 mile mark, I see them about 1/4 mile ahead. Super beast mode engaged. "I will ****ing catch them" becomes my mantra. Hit a patch of black ice going downhill at around 30mph. Spectacular crash ensues, wherein I land squarely on my left hip and shoulder and tumble end over end. That happens to be the shoulder that never quite healed from a separation and broken collarbone a couple years ago. Decide to turn. 10 miles later, second front flat, this one was a sharp rock that shredded my tire. Walked to a train station a mile away, and while waiting for the train, the group passes on their way back in. On the bright side, there were only about 8 left, so I wasn't the only one to get dropped, just the first. New tire Friday, and I'm gonna try again next week. Maybe.

Sheesh Bryan that sounds rough. I hope you didn't make your past injuries worse.

Sorry for your loss Scrod.

I love you, kid.

Aw ****, man. Sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is the worst.

Meh. After limping for a day or two and icing the shoulder, I'll be fine. Boss wants me to go out with him again next week.

LesterOfPuppets 03-13-13 04:06 PM

RIP Fickle.

LesterOfPuppets 03-13-13 04:14 PM

Today I washed my earbuds :(
Today I found my earbuds :)

MIA for a week - curse of the cargo pants.

Today I am telling everyone around me to get off my spoon, bro.

FakeFuji 03-13-13 04:23 PM

Today I got done work early and. Rode for about two hours,

My bb is two years old and is getting somewhat creaky, do you guys think I should just replace my cranks and bb at the same time?

Ann.Occupanther 03-13-13 04:25 PM

So sorry Scrod. Losing a pet is rough. Glad that you guys were back from California when it happened though. Happy trails, Fickle.

Street rider 03-13-13 04:26 PM

Sorry to hear about the cat, Scrod. Never easy.

Today I got a hurrkut. And I'm going to play soccer again tonight, surprisingly wasn't sore this morning, but I'm sure tomorrow will be very different. And plans are falling in place for this weekend, in terms of what, where, and when I'll be drinking with my friends. Its going to be crazy.

That's the thing, we were on the plane coming home when our friend who had been coming to our house every day to take care of the cats found him. He wasn't sick or anything and had been acting fine the day before so I have no idea what happened. :(

Ann.Occupanther 03-13-13 04:35 PM

Aww, that's even worse. Sounds like he wasn't suffering though. Best of wishes to you and Angie.

Scrodzilla 03-13-13 04:41 PM

Thanks, Anna - and the rest of you guys & gals.

SpeshulEd 03-13-13 05:10 PM

Man, that sucks. Losing a pet is never a good thing. We lost two dogs last year, one to old age and the other to kidney disease. I still have moments where I tear up.

So, so sorry man.

Jaytron 03-13-13 05:13 PM

Sorry Scrod :C

I'm sorry scrod. Could have been stroke/seizure.

seau grateau 03-13-13 08:14 PM

Went for a ride on my newly rebuilt road bike. Was so nice. Broke a spoke on the way home. Was not nice.

EpicSchwinn 03-13-13 11:03 PM

I'm so sorry about your cat, Scrod :( Hang in there!

Today is now two weeks after my accident and insurance still hasn't settled a value on my car. I've got a rental in the mean time but I'd like to get back to a car of my own. Pretty sure this is just a tactic to get me impatient and to take whatever low-ball number they give me.

apaulson714 03-14-13 08:40 AM

Sorry to hear about your cat :(

Today, after it taking me far to long to get my bike together due to lack of time, got it all fit, nice and perfect, was going to take it out on a quick (freezing cold) ride and then stripped my seat clamp..... The bike gods just dont want me to ride right now lol i think my LBS is getting sick of seeing me haha

SpeshulEd 03-14-13 09:50 AM

Today, I rode my bike to work. Sure it's only 14 miles, flat and still took me an hour, but dammit, I did it!

edit: rode not road. I can spell!

what are the main cross-streets near work?

AristoNYC 03-14-13 10:40 AM

The dude who was supposed to be selling me his CAAD10 decided to sell the frame so now he has components but no frame, he can get the frame through his bike shop but I don't want the TEAM colors, i wanted black. Looks like I'll be buying new, probably going to go with the Rival 4 over the Ultegra and save $500
